RAM DESIGN

Ram Design is an interior design firm based on Shelter Island, NY. Principal designer Cristina Peffer resides on the island, and has her office and home store Ram Design Home right on Bridge Street. Cristina has a unique approach in her design work. Her vast experience in design, combined with her keen intuition, allows her to hear deeply what clients want. There is a lot of subtle communication in the world of design, and Cristina understands the world her clients are seeking to create in their homes. In each unique project, there is a clear understanding of the direction and purpose, and it is based on the emotional and spatial framework in front of her. Her client list is largely made up of designers and business leaders that have a point of view, and enjoy executing ideas. Peffer has been referred to as "the designer for designers". Having spent a lifetime in the world of design, her roots run deep for centuries on both sides of her family. Cristina claims to channel her great grandmother Carolyn Dewing who was one of the founders of the Boston School of Design more than anyone else and says her sense of color comes from another noteworthy relative, John Singer Sargent. The core inspiration for every project comes from the heart for Cristina, and her experience has proven to her and to her clients, that the work of interior design is work that comes to life by the love felt in the sanctuary of each home.
