I’m a woodworker in Reno and I’ve had the pleasure of working with/for Kirsten for several years on five different projects. She is terrific to work with. I’ve interacted with both Kirsten and her clients on each project. Each client is different of course. Some looking for help to bring their own vision into reality. Some wishing help from beginning to end, relying more on Kirsten’s eye for design. The projects have ranged from a live edge dining table, to Craftsman Style designs, to Modern accent pieces, to unique art pedestals. I’ve seen her work with each client/style comfortably and confidently. Kirsten is a totally hands on designer. She has actually helped me carry in some pretty big pieces on occasion. Her clients seem to feel as though she is truly a friend and I think that says a lot about her. She’s the best!

Kirsten helped us decorate 2 houses: one in Incline Village and one in Reno. Because of their locations, the houses called for different styles. Kirsten did an amazing job listening to our ideas and then converting our wish lists into materials, furniture and decoration items that blended together in a beautiful way. She made the daunting task of making hundreds decisions about colors, textures, shapes etc info fun. Both houses turned out to be beautiful and inviting, and yet designed in very different styles. All in all, I highly recommend Kirsten to everyone who is looking for help with design.

I hired Kirsten to help us remodel an entire home we had just purchased. I was feeling very overwhelmed at the prospect of designing every room in the house plus building a pool/rec house. She completely put me at ease with her professionalism, organization and knowledge. Not only did we have a great time shopping, she made it so easy and simple to build my dream home. She listened to my every thought, and idea and never made me feel like I had a bad idea. She was flexible and open to all my wishes. I highly recommend Kirsten and Sjol Designs for any project, big or small.

We have worked with Kirsten for many years. We greatly respect her excellent training, enthusiasm for any project large or small, and most of all her creativity. She helped us with every aspect of a second home in the Palm Springs area, every piece of furniture, detailed design, many art pieces, everything. When I bought my new (10 year old) home here in Reno, NV, Kirsten Shull of Sjol Designs did an amazing job helping me select all the interior paint colors, flooring & carpeting and furnishings for several rooms. Now, three years later, I am still thrilled with all the choices we made. She is a great communicator and was so easy to work with because she truly listened to my "wants" while sharing her expertise and ideas making the whole process enjoyable, cost effective and rewarding. I have worked with Kirsten on several projects in the past several years, she presents herself very professionally with the clients and other sub contractors. Her ideas are well thought out, but with enough flexibility to adjust to the construction site, homeowners, and tradesmen to get the job done with amazing results.

Working with Kirsten was a complete pleasure. I didn't know where to start in the house i just purchased as it needed almost everything: paint, baseboards, door casings, carpet, window sills, etc. Then I needed bath vanities, rugs, furniture, art work, you get the picture. She helped me select all of it and I was thrilled with the results. She turned a chaotic fixer-upper into a lovely home.

Kirsten helped us with a major remodel when our house had a flood. She worked with the contractor and selected the interiors for us when we requested. The contractor was difficult to work with and at our request she stepped in to get things moving along. During the construction period Kirsten took care of endless details and relieved the stress of a tough situation. Her designs are beautiful, work ethic outstanding and customer relations are superior. Subsequent to completion of the first remodel, there was another somewhat smaller problem that developed. We requested her help again. Once again, Kirsten came through with spectacular results and saved us a lot of money with her recommendations. Sjol Designs does a fantastic job of listening to customer needs, creating a timely recommendation and advising on the best products that meet the needs of a project.
