Our parents enjoyed the installation of beautiful, great-attention-to-detail metal fireplace double doors when they first built their home circa 1970. They (and we!) enjoyed the fireplace and the thoughtful, beautiful, protective metal and glass doors for just about a half-century. Now in their nineties and not inclined to move to an assisted living center anytime soon, my folks recently asked us ‘kids’ for one favor: Could we help find qualified craftsmen to refurbish the fireplace doors? The doors had helped us all enjoy many great evenings by the hearth. Might we find someone even nearly as talented as the initial craftsmen? Fortunately, our mother recalled the exact name of the company that did the work nearly fifty years ago. We took that name and pursued an equally talented craftsman. One tip led to another and we ultimately connected with apparently the SON of the initial craftsman - at Cohen Metals Group. I and my siblings are quite the tough customers. We have high standards. So we don’t submit this review lightly: From start to finish Cohen Metals Group met and exceeded our expectations. Renee engaged congenially and informatively from the outset. Her partner and (as we understand it) co-owner of CMG met us for the on-site visit and estimate and was equally congenial and informative. An unexpected bonus and so valued by us: The fellow talked at length about several key features of the fireplace doors and recognized them as his father’s handiwork! Our Mother was astonished and impressed. The subsequent work/refurbishment and follow-up appointments went well. Perhaps the greatest joy for us was to revisit our folks after the work had been completed and ‘catch’ them rather transfixed by the safe fire courtesy of the Cohen Metals Group’s craftsmanship: stunning, newly refurbished fireplace doors. It was a very satisfying scene: Cherished parents cherishing their long-valued tradition of sitting hearthside for the evening. Cohen Metals Group helped us make this satisfying moment happen. Cohen Metals installed cable wire railings on our front and back porches as well as support railings along the front steps of our house. The results are spectacular.
