Mather Steel is an owner-led steel and metalwork company based in Modesto, California, serving residential and commercial projects throughout the Central Valley and Northern California. We specialize in custom, thoughtfully executed steel and metalwork backed by structural expertise and hands-on field experience. Our work includes custom stairs, railings, gates, architectural and ornamental metalwork, structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and specialty fabricated components. We especially enjoy projects that require a custom solution—whether working from architectural drawings, a design concept, an existing condition, or a detail that needs to be figured out in the field. We work closely with builders, architects, designers, engineers, and homeowners to help turn ideas into practical, buildable steelwork, then fabricate and install the finished work. Owner Trevor Grubaugh brings 20+ years of experience in the steel industry and remains directly involved in Mather Steel’s projects.
