Form and Function

The project was to design and build bedroom furniture incorporating some of the existing furniture. It included a new wall unit. The design more than met our expectations and while adding more storage space made the room look bigger, airier and modern. It was a pleasure to work with Alan Sharpe of Form and Function . He had many excellent ideas and was very professional in how he presented them. He showed a lot of patience when we could not decide. His craftsmanship and attention to detail is excellent.

We engaged Form and Function to build a custom Bar area in our family room, Alan was very helpful with the design and returned with a detailed design, pricing and a delivery schedule. Form and Function completed the installation on time. The workmanship on our bar and storage is stellar. it has been installed for over a year and still looks fantastic.

Two years ago we hired Form and Function to renovate our outdated kitchen. Alan Sharpe was very professional and we were thrilled with the results. He is very detail oriented and the the resulting product displays that fact. He met the deadlines and stayed within budget. We have recently asked him to build us an additional cupboard and again, he provided us with an incredible product. I am an Architect, and hired Alan of Form and Function on a new, contemporary house in Port Hope, ON. He built cabinetry throughout the house including the kitchen, bathroom vanities and living room built-ins. He was a pleasure to work with and produced high quality millwork. Al Sharpe from Form and Function is an excellent designer and draftsman, and Peter, his cabinet-maker does beautiful work! We have hired this company more than once to do projects in our home. The most recent involved a bathroom renovation. Form and Function made a custom floating vanity with touch-opening drawers and cupboards, as well as a large framed mirror. Previously, they designed and built all the cabinetry, including a bench, in our bedroom's walk-in closet. At the same time, they built two vanities for our en suite bathroom and a framed mirror, as well as all the cabinetry in our large laundry room. We highly recommend Form and Function!

The kitchen renovation of the kitchen is a central feature of my 1850 house. Alan Sharpe was involved in the project from the very beginning, taking a leading role in the design and seeing the project through, including all the finishing details. He also designed and constructed important parts of the shelving in the library. Every part of the project was done to a very high standard and, two years later, it has held up very well. I should add that this was the single best experience I have ever had with renovation. Alan has an impressive skill set: excellent communications skills, an eye for good design (in a wide range of styles), attention to details (even those that are not visible in the final stage) and a fair and well-thought out allocation of costs. I would recommend him without any reservations. He has my full trust and confidence.
