Dennis Langford is the magician of interior design, even with small spaces! We have two homes on the water and they both started with cramped, unattractive kitchens. We couldn’t/didn’t want to expand the house perimeter in either location, so the challenge was how to re-configure rooms to get bigger kitchens. Our architects and contractors came up with only a little in the way of assistance; but luckily, we found Dennis. He is a creative genius and his Downsview product is far superior to any other cabinet brands we have seen before or since. My husband and I – a former Fortune 500 CFO and a semi-retired lawyer – know that we are demanding; and our various contractors from the past could tell you that. So high marks from us can be hard to achieve; but we have only the best to say about Dennis Langford, his Downsview cabinets and his shop, Kitchen Spaces.
Our first project, in Southern California now has twice as much counter space plus an additional sink plus a bar counter. And Dennis figured out how to get a full, three-sided credenza office for my husband immediately adjacent, yet far enough away that we can both watch the tv’s we have in each room without competing sound. Other neighbors and friends who live in the area who have also done remodels on their original beach cottages cannot believe how much space we have in the kitchen; they keep asking if we don’t have a bigger lot size – and no, we don’t. We just have someone who really knows his stuff – Dennis Langford.
After our California project, the kitchen in our Pacific Northwest home looked terrible. We talked with our contractor and architect up here, as well as Dennis and, once again, Dennis came through with the most creative ideas. I don’t think I really need to even say much about the results. Just look at the pictures above. We were on the cover and the lead article in our local home and garden magazine and it is in very large part due to the fabulous kitchen Dennis created for us. In addition to kitchen design and giving us a wonderful vanity for the powder room, Dennis served as a sounding board for a lot of other design features in the house – ceilings and moldings in particular (note the coffered ceiling in the kitchen).
Besides being incredibly talented, Dennis Langford is a joy to work with. His low-key Southern style makes things so easy and he is just one of the nicest people you will ever meet. We have developed a good friendship with him and his lovely wife, a friendship that we believe will last for a long time – and maybe even a few more houses. (Just kidding!)
Do use Dennis’ services; you will not be disappointed!
