Blue Stone Construction did an incredible job transforming our backyard, pool, pergola, patio, and the whole outdoor space. Nick was on site almost every day, which I really appreciated, and Tom stayed on top of the schedule and milestones the entire time. I’m pretty detail oriented, and their process and communication made everything feel organized and under control. The quality of the work speaks for itself, and the space turned out even better than we imagined. I’d absolutely recommend them for a big outdoor project.

Selling a home and needed several things addressed, from tiling to roofing etc. Incredibly good to work with. Honest, resourceful with exceptional work ethic and reasonable pricing. What more can you ask for?

Blue Stone completed a full front yard remodel for us. We were looking for a quality contractor for about a year and finally found Blue Stone through a referral. They did a great job on the actual work, but additionally- they were hands on, communicative and had very clear billing (not easy to find). The project stayed on budget and on time! Would highly recommend on all fronts!

After interviewing many contractors, we selected Blue Stone Construction based largely on a referral from a friend and the very positive experience we had during the initial consultation phase of our project. We felt that Blue Stone had a good track record but was small enough to still give us close personal attention (vs one of the giant pool construction companies). We also liked that Blue Stone could handle all elements of the project from pool design/construction to hardscape, softscape, lighting, etc. From start to finish, we felt that Blue Stone conducted business with honesty and integrity, and they were 100% committed to our satisfaction. Communication was nothing short of excellent. They were always available when needed, and we were never made to feel that we were being picky or difficult. Of course, things didn't always go perfectly, but the Blue Stone team was always prepared to resolve issues quickly and fairly. The project did take longer than expected, but not all of this was necessarily within Blue Stone’s control. We were generally happy to accept quality over speed, and Blue Stone went above and beyond on multiple occasions to help get us swimming in time for summer. Overall, and most importantly, we are absolutely thrilled with the end result. The team at Blue Stone (and in particular Nic) was a pleasure to work with and they built us something really special that we will enjoy for years to come. We feel at ease that if there was ever an issue in the future, they would stand by their work and be there for us. We would recommend Blue Stone without hesitation, and if we ever have another project, we would not think of using anyone else.

As general contractors, the folks at Blue Stone did an awesome job in every aspect of my new home's outdoor transformation, from an unfinished dirt lot to an outdoor oasis, complete with pool, BBQ, outdoor shower, courtyard and garden area. Nic and team were very open to discuss every detail, and most of all they were patient in getting things done exactly right. There was zero pushiness, arrogance, or upsell, unlike many contractors that I've dealt with in the past and which I'm sure is on the top of your list of concerns. Have the initial meeting with them and go with your intuition, you can't lose!

Nic and Tom are very good at what they do, and easy to work with. We built a pool, a separate spa, and a steel post supported outdoor pavilion (with 14 skylights and a firepit). All during the height of Covid.

We hired Blue Stone Construction to construct our pool and spa. We talked to a number of companies before hiring Blue Stone. From the beginning we felt good about working with Tom and Nic. Nic was our project manager, and he was on site a great deal of the time. This impressed us because we had built a pool before and the owner/project manager was seldom there when the work was being done. With Blue Stone the project went smoothly despite covid related challenges. The various work groups were professional and courteous at all times. Nic provided substantial design input and really helped us get the project off the ground. When a question did arise, he was always available to provide prompt answers. The pool is beautiful, and we are very happy.

Nic and his team did a superb job with our spa. Nic's expertise and attention to detail ensured a smooth process from beginning to end, even with the current COVID-related constraints. Everyone in the team is professional, respectful and a joy to work with. I recommend Blue Stone Construction wholeheartedly.

We used Blue Stone to do a remodel of our backyard. This included taking out concrete and part of a block wall and replacing with pavers. Then adding irrigation and plantings to the new spaces. The planning and execution was excellent. The workers were respectful, efficient and professional. They kept area clean and tidy so we could still get around and enjoy the spaces when they were not working. Nick kept us informed of progress, and any changes both in cost and timing. We really appreciated working with Blue Stone. They exceeded our expectations. We are so happy with the remodel. We would strongly recommend them.

Blue Stone Construction added a pool and spa to our backyard this Summer, 2020. We had an existing backyard and they worked with us to blend the existing yard with the new updates. From the beginning I had a good feeling about working with Tom and Nic, they are both down to earth and not the "pushy sales type". They also gave a realistic timeline of completion and were pretty spot on, even through some rain delays. From the design stages through to the finish Nic was available to add guidance to decisions and he has a great eye. We really appreciated that the same crew was mostly there from start to finish. It was nice to see familiar faces day in and day out, especially through the Covid-19 era. When there were subs that came in (as there always will be), they always introduced themselves and were very professional. We have already referred Blue Stone to clients and neighbors and will continue to do so without hesitation.

Tom is an excellent designer and project manager ... we absolutely adore our pool, spa, ipe wood deck, and turf. It truly feels like living at a luxury resort! He was instrumental in helping us make wise, cost-efficient decisions at every step of the process. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking to do a backyard renovation.

We hired Blue Stone Construction for the landscaping of our new homes in Carmel Valley. They did a fantastic job of the pool, bbq area and landscaping. They were great to work with, excellent attention to detail and some great suggestions of how we could maximize our space. Each step was completed in a timely manner and the staff were professional. We are really happy with the work!

I hired Tom and his company to build our dream backyard in San Elijo Hills, CA. I highly recommend using Blue Stone Construction...if you don't I know you will honestly regret it. He is honest, a perfectionist and tackles challenges with vision and thoughtfulness. He and his team are meticulous with details and only use the "best" products. I give Tom and Blue Stone Construction the highest rating possible.

We used Blue Stone Construction as a full service company for our front and backyard. It was great working with only 1 company to complete the whole project. They did everything .. our pool, spa, fire pit, putting green, outdoor kitchen (custom installed an EVO), custom wooden gates, exterior fence, hardscape/soft scape, lighting, courtyard, driveway and more. The communication was great and reliable. Plus, no "surprise" bill at the end. Even after the project was completed, they came back to fix minor items. I strongly recommend Blue Stone Construction.

I hired Blue Stone to do all of my hardscaping and they did a wonderful job. They did all the designing in full color 3D renderings. They were at my house almost every day with multiple people until they finished. I would highly suggest hiring Nic and Tom for your project.

Hire them. Seriously. My husband is an engineer and it goes without saying, very detail oriented. Very. Our project was large and presented a lot of challenges but Tom and his team were on it. They paid attention to details and didn't cut corners. Workers came with a clear plan each day, showed up on time and worked hard. Tom and/or his project managers were on site every day, explaining what they were doing, what challenges they saw and what changes needed to be made (and believe me, that engineer husband of mine appreciated it). Above all, they are fair, kind, accommodating, responsive and very easy to work with. We've worked with many contractors and would have them back in a heartbeat.
