Gary Fredricks Landscape Design

After reaching out to a few local landscape designers on Houzz, Gary Fredricks Landscape Design was the only one to respond — and did so rather quickly. My focus was on transforming my front yard as the landscaping had become tired and in great need of a jump start. Gary listened to my wants and concerns, and offered up options for how best to address each of them. As with most large projects, there were a couple moments of miscommunication and accidental property damage but Gary and his team were professional and worked through it all with me to everyone’s satisfaction. Gary engaged Sands to Greens Landscape to do the actual work and they impressed me from start to finish with their work ethic and dedication to doing their best work. The results are impressive and exceeded my own expectations.

This review is woefully late, but wanted everyone to know how amazing Gary is. The front of our mid-century house had ZERO curb appeal - haphazard, miscellaneous plantings, a distinct lack of lighting and irrigation, surrounded by an old, patchy ficus hedge, and lacked a safe way to enter a busy street that the house fronted. We reached out to multiple designers for quotes and Gary was the only one to respond. Fortune was with us because Gary really took care of us. He was incredibly responsive and delivered a plan that included everything on our wishlist - all within our budget. This included a new circular driveway, a breeze-block surrounded patio for our guest rooms, and new plantings, irrigation, and lighting. The transformation is amazing and spurred/inspired us to make additional updates to the house to step up to his amazing landscape. We can't recommend him more highly and would definitely work with him again - perhaps for our back yard when we are ready!

When we moved into our newly constructed home in Palm Springs the garden was a barren wasteland which needed to be transformed into our own desert oasis. On a recommendation, we found Gary who was a great match for us. He carefully listened to our needs and ideas and made great design choices which complimented the architecture of the home and framed the mountain view. He has impressive knowledge of the plant material suitable for the desert and what would work best in our garden. He worked with our landscaper supervising all aspects of the construction of the hardscape elements as well as the installation of the plant material. It was a pleasure working with him.

Gary was warm insightful, creative yet also very customer interactive. Accommodating for visits to the property and great at overseeing the project to finish. We have received many compliments during the 300+ who visited during modernism. Couldn’t be happier.

Gary Fredericks is the best of the best! He came out to my Palm Springs home in September 2016, listened to my concerns and ideas regarding front and back yard landscaping, and then gave me his. From that point on, he took the ball and ran with it, which exactly what I was looking for. He had the plans drawn up very expeditiously, answered all my questions clearly, and the end result was excellent! He has a very good eye, is very reliable, and a year later, I still rely on him and the excellent landscaping company he uses, to help me tweak things, as needed.

Gary and his team were amazing! We are thrilled with the design and final product of our Palm Springs retreat. Gary's vision and expertise led to the creation of an incredibly beautiful and functional outdoor kitchen, and cozy fire pit lounge area - all of which are surrounded by zen gardens with a modern twist. Gary's creative use of plantings and recommendations on materials were all top notch. He comes with the highest of recommendations.
