About Us

Founded in 1989, Sequoyah Landscaping is among the longest-standing landscaping companies in Knoxville, TN. For more than 2 decades, we have designed and installed many notable landscapes in Knoxville and the surrounding area, including the LEED Certified Quadrangle of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Visitors Center, recognized globally, to the Ronald McDonald House in Fort Sanders. We have also completed more than 1000 residential and commercial landscape projects in Knoxville. We started many years ago doing basic grounds maintenance for a family development company. We found this work to very gratifying. Soon we began to seek new work with aspects we had not previously encountered. Because of our passion we met these challenges with thoughtful problem solving skill. With every new project we banked new skills to apply to the next project.

I have used Sequoyah for all major landscaping needs for the past 20 years. Lonnie Catinella is extremely fair and transparent with regards to cost and setting expectations. Lonnie is also very accessible by phone, which is hard to find these days. Sequoyah is also well versed in a variety of areas. Just recently they fixed and redirected all of my down spouts and guttering. They have also assisted in all of our outdoor lighting. We have been in our home for 20 years so our landscaping was taking over. Lonnie and his crew in one week have redone all of our rock work and removed all of our over grown trees and shrubs and left the job site clean. Lonnie has a good eye for landscape design and will go out of his way to get the best wholesale pricing. Andy Venable

Sequoyah has been working on our landscaping from the beginning of when we were finishing our house construction. We were not in a position to complete all of our landscaping at one time. So, we had to have them complete the landscaping without a clear overall plan but they did so in a manner that tied everything together. The owner, Lonnie, has a good eye for what looks good with the house and the surroundings. Overall, plant selection was good with a few exceptions, such as using too many Drift Roses, especially as foundation plants.

I shopped around, and then hired Sequoyah Landscaping to do decorative curbing enhancements to my beds in front of our home in the spring of 2017. Lonnie came out, met with me to to discuss the project, and even recommended a few changes to create a look even better than I expected. His crew was prompt and courteous, they did an excellent job and even followed up months later to be sure that the work done was still up to my expectations. We are looking to do a paver stone patio in the near future, and Sequoyah is our first choice of contractors to handle that for us.

Sequoyah Landscaping provided excellent customer service, attention to detail, and timeliness in landscaping our back yard!! They cleared overgrown areas surrounding the property to show perimeter of the land space .
