Oh, let me count the ways this business owner is irresponsible, unprofessional, and unreliable. Oops, I forgot, don’t plan a reasonable project duration--he has a full-time job.
My project was direct, simple, yet involved. Some details changed, of course-- after occurrences, and unearthing the layers. Typical of most jobs. Quoted was painting an interior space and exterior of a small commercial building, some drywall, checking the electric and installing ceiling tiles, then installing a floating floor of said 700sq. ft. interior space. After three weeks, and all of Mr. Bianchi’s cajoling, sales-speak, promises and affirmations (“I’m a workaholic, “I’m just a simple laborer”, etc.), the mold was gone, one wall dry-walled, and part of the space was primed. Additionally, he inflated costs, i.e., a pre-hung 38” x 82” bathroom door was $300. I found one at Menard’s for $81.00. He quoted laying a floating floor within a 700 sq. ft. space for $3500. He agreed to lower the fee to $2.50 per sq ft., and added, “Flooring’s not my thing”. HUH? Attitudinally, I found him to be argumentative, condescending (telling to me to talk to my husband knowing I am the owner of the building), immature, while grossly overstating his abilities and scheduling. Personally, I think he is a wannabe contractor, trying to learn the trades as he goes along, and wastes your time and money.
