Malone's Landscape Design | Build

We engaged Malone’s late last summer to design and build an outdoor living space based on their reputation as a premium, high quality firm. The design process lived up to that reputation. Everything after that was a giant disappointment however. We have spent 100’s of thousands of dollars and a year later we have problems that are still unresolved. Months go by with no word from them. They have made commitments and then don’t follow through. There are piles of debris, boxes and scrap material that have been left next to our front walk for months. They left a large area of exposed Tyvec unfinished for so long we got a complaint letter from our HOA. We deeply regret selecting this firm for our project.

Malone’s did a fabulous job on our small backyard that was just a triangle of grass that was put in by the builder of the home. Malones came in and made it into an extended living area that we will enjoy during every season of the year!! Everyone at Malones was great to work with and the job was completed in a timely and affordable manner. Very pleased.

Malone's did a great job with a large back yard project including updating our 20-30year old landscaping, removing old deck and building a new composite deck (~700 square foot) which incorporated a new hot tub, removing an old gazebo and replacing it with fire pit. Can't wait for some nice weather so we can use our beautiful new outside area!

I had Malone's out to do a medium size landscaping project in my backyard, including a fully redone dog run with a tiered retaining wall and artificial turf, a custom firepit, new pavers/pathways, outdoor lighting, lots of new plants, and some custom drainage for a problematic previous pathway in the front where water would pool. I could not be happier with the result. They were great to work with at every stage through design and planning, execution, and follow-ups. The crew was professional and courteous, and very accommodating to various requests and customizations. On top of everything they came through on time and under budget. I will very likely work with Malone's again for a larger outdoor kitchen project down the line.

I recently hired Malone's Landscape to build a pond and fountain, expand my driveway, and handle some additional landscape work. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. They had a wide range of expertise and brought in electricians to handle the electrical work, set up an irrigation system, and delivered beautiful results. The end product was beyond what I had envisioned and I'm so happy with my experience with Malone's. I had a previous bad experience with another contractor but Malone's fixed the mess and exceeded my expectations. We are thankful to have selected Malone’s Landscape and Design to design and complete a major renovation of our failing creek-side deck. As a result, this expansive outdoor space has been totally transformed into a unique, beautiful gathering and dining place that meets all our family’s needs. Jeremiah Lord incorporated our very rough ideas into a construct that showcases his expertise as a designer, builder and project manager. We now have a large deck, log-structured covered cooking and dining space, and custom gas fireplace overlooking the creek that is simply stunning. It integrates perfectly with our one-of-a-kind stone and log home, landscaped gardens and the small creek that meanders through the property. Every member of the Malone’s team approached our project with skill, professionalism and pride in a job well done. The crew, lead, site manager and project manager all made work safety a priority, which we value as customers and homeowners. Of great appeal was that Malone’s is a full service landscape designer and builder. This was critical, as among the many challenges presented by the site was the task of integrating an existing Grand Fir into the structure of the enclosed kitchen and dining area without compromising its root structure. By overseeing and completing all aspects of our project from design and engineering to permitting and construction, the company greatly eased the process of renovation and created an outdoor space that we are pleased with beyond words. Malone’s has earned our gratitude and respect, and for that we give them our highest recommendation.

We've had Malone's do two water features for us, 1st one was done in 2005 and was a large 3 tiered waterfall plus a huge makeover of the existing yard. After moving last year to another home we asked them to do a water feature for it too. This one was fairly complicated as it had to be seen from 3 sides as it was in a center island in front of the house. Our designer Jim Welnak was very patient as we worked through our design and even made some changes as it was being built. Our actual on site manager and builder of the water feature (Artimio) was awesome. This guy is extremely talented in taking a big pile of rocks and turning it into a fantastic, natural looking, gorgeous waterfall. He's got to be one of the best in the business in doing this kind of thing in our area. Overall we were extremely pleased with the outcome.

We hired Malone's Landscape Design Build to do a very large backyard renovation on our 3 acre lot. The renovation included extensive grading, retaining walls, concrete patios and steps, gas fire pit, irrigation, plantings/grass and farm fencing. They also managed the permitting, grading, electrical and gas work when our pool and spa was installed. We were extremely pleased with the design and execution by Jim Malone, project management by John and on-site crew headed up by Jose. Everyone was professional and the attention to detail was exceptional! Our yard is an oasis thanks to everyone who worked on our project. I found Malone's Landscaping through houzz and decided to e-mail them about turning my worn out, suburban, "grass-rectangle" back yard into a retreat I could relax in after long hours at work. I also wanted a space I could use for informal entertaining. From the moment I was contacted by Desiree, (on a Saturday, no less), until the final walk-through with Jim Welnak (general contractor on this project), the experience was fantastic. Jim and Nate (designer) listened carefully to my preferences and requirements and created a great design that was exactly what I had in mind. Jim paid close attention to every part of the build process and was quick to answer any questions I had along the way, meeting me several times to look over the work. The crews were experienced, professional, and friendly. (Even my neighbors commented on this -- a real plus when your project includes noisy things like tearing up patios and porches, re-grading, and taking delivery of large pallets of flagstone, all in a small residential neighborhood). And the finished project is beautiful. The transformation is just what I wanted and I find myself out in that yard all the time now. I can't wait to see the plants fill in and bloom this Spring. Thanks, Malone's, for giving me and my poor yard a much needed update!

I had the pleasure of working with Malone's Nursery for a Seattle Home and Garden landscape display. I was impressed with the professional way they approached the design process. Their attention to every detail was impeccable. They worked well as a team which made working with them quite pleasant. Then there was the nursery end of the project: their knowledge of plant materials was immense. Last, Malone's had the ability to connect the landscape design to the home design, marrying the two with superb harmony, something not every landscaper pays attention to. I thoroughly enjoyed working with them.

I drastically needed to increase the curb appeal and called Malone's. Jim came out and looked over my problem. He came back and presented a very professional detailed plan and estimate on a great design. Work began on time and with great care.
