We used HOH on a pretty big project. The guys showed up and absolutely kicked butt. The entire downstairs got renovated and literally every day, they made it completely safe for my children. Dustin and Denis spent countless hours during installation to make sure my wife and I were pleased. Everything we wanted was done. Perfectly. From the design with Meg, to Dustin tearing everything out, to Denis putting the expert touches, this process has been outstanding. Also, my kids loved the guys, and they were always very nice to my family.

Denis, Dustin, Meg & Jen were absolutely amazing to work with. Everything was top notch & we couldn’t be happier with their work. We have actually set up a place at our house to leave out their business cards for our friends because we’ve had so many people question who has done our remodel. They were respectful and a delight to work with.

We had a kitchen designed by Heart of the Home Kitchens of New Bern, NC in March of 2019. Decided to hire them for the job. Cabinets were ordered and delivered in May of 2019. Everything seemed great. Until then. They left the cabinets uninstalled until "the floors" were finished. When in reality, they could have installed everything above the toe kick and 1/4 round and covered them, to prevent damage. (the house was unoccupied) Which should have made the job easier. But no, we were treated as some annoying "side job", when in fact we had paid well over $40K for the kitchen and bath vanity and cabinet. They continually sent us emails claiming the job was "finished" please pay the balance, only for us to discover things incomplete like, no running water in the bathroom, (all the way through January of 2020) kitchen faucet is somehow loose, like moves forward and back! Owners spent a good amount of time arguing about how to fix this. No water and ice hook up on our fridge. They just continually point fingers at any other contractor that was in the house. We had a piece designed that we were told would look like a "piece of furniture". When installed, it didn't fit the section of wall, and they left off a "furniture end" so that their was no symmetry to it. I was there when they were trying to figure out where said end piece went, I pointed it out, and they agreed it went there. They then decided once I was gone, that they would not use the piece we paid for and was pictured in our design, and used a piece of painted PLYWOOD! We watched on our surveillance camera as the owner walked out w/ the piece! I have photos of the completed cabinet, not professionally done. There was a cabinet door with glass panels in it, that hard a deep gouge in it. I pointed it out and was told they would take it and have it replaced. Great! Instead, they took it, painted the hole and re-installed the SAME damaged door. They refused to go under the house to do the necessary water hookups to the fridge. Also, a piece of "laminate" 1/4 round was installed (without getting our input, before purchase and installation) on a beautiful rustic hickory vanity. It looks ridiculous. I We got numerous emails over the course of this project stating "just a couple more hours of work to be done". We did a kitchen reno on another house a couple of years ago, and the difference in approach and treatment of the client is remarkable. I could go on, but i think I've made my point. Overall, we don't recommend this company. We never worked with a "Mike" it was primarily Denis and Jen, who own this company.

Working with Mike was a pleasure from beginning to end. I appreciated his advice and knowledge while I chose a new countertop, sink and backsplash. The work was completed within our agreed-upon timeline: the installers were completely professional in doing their jobs but they were very pleasant and fun to work with. The quality of their work was excellent. I would enthusiastically recommend Heart of the Home Kitchens!

The moment Mr. Roberts stepped into or 1990's kitchen he could see the potential in the space available. From adding drawers to changing locations of cabinets for a better design flow his recommendations were spot on. He measured once and then twice to be sure of a perfect fit. Mr. Roberts expert advice was spot on for all aspects of the job from backsplash, sink, faucets, counter-tops and all cabinet accessories. He was very accommodating to our time line and our bottom line. I would highly recommend the Heart of the Home LLC to anyone wishing to build the right kitchen. Mike Roberts designed my kitchen in my 1983 house about 8 years back. It was a galley kitchen with the original cabinets and countertops. It was a nightmare! Mike came in and designed the kitchen of my dreams. He used the space to its best advantage, giving me storage I would never have thought of. The cabinets and hardware I picked are timeless so I will not get tired of them. I love that everything in my kitchen has a place and I can find it quickly, being so organized. Thank you Mike Roberts for helping me achieve my dream kitchen!

My husband and I just rebuilt our home after having lost it to Hurricane Irene in 2011. We decided to go with Heart of the Home Kitchens in New Bern, NC to design our cabinets. We could not be any happier with the end results. Mike had great ideas and he was very pleasant to work with. We chose to stain our island and one bathroom "Java" and we went with a distressed cream color for the upper and lower kitchen cabinets as well as our master bathroom cabinets. His craftsmanship is simply amazing!!

Mike did an excellent job designing and installing our kitchen. We are extremely happy with the Wood Mode cabinets and Mike's followup on any issues that occurred after installation has been excellent also. He coordinated the installation of the granite counter tops and provided a full scope of services.
