We hired Omar to finish our basement after finding his business online. We interviewed five different potential contractors and knew as soon as he walked in our front door that we had found our contractor. Of the five, Omar’s estimate was not the least expensive (nor was it the highest, either), but we prioritized the gut feeling we had upon meeting him as the quality and affordability were just as much factors in our decision as was the relationship we felt with our contractor. Omar was not only friendly and professional, but it was immediately evident that he was passionate about his business, his clients, and their projects.
During our initial consultation, Omar listened carefully to our ideas and vision for our basement while also contributing ideas and helpful considerations so that we had a solid plan in place to make the most of our space and to ensure it fit the needs of our family. It is worth noting that Omar was the only contractor we interviewed that worked with us instead of simply going into our basement and telling us what should be done as had been the experience with the other contractors we interviewed and met with.
Omar has surrounded himself with an incredible crew and team of subcontractors. In addition to quality workmanship, Omar’s crew was unbelievably respectful of our home (not to mention very tidy; they cleaned up at the end of each working day!) and mindful of the people that were living there while they worked. I have two children--a 1-year old and a 4-year old--that remained curious about the basement construction project throughout the entire process. Every single person from Omar’s crew exhibited patience and kindness towards my children: answering their questions, demonstrating their tools, waving goodbye from their trucks at the end of the day, and tolerating countless unsolicited hugs. As a mother, I am forever grateful and always enjoy telling our friends and family about how Omar and his crew are frequently featured in my son’s artwork. To me, these relationships are so reflective of the type of business Omar runs and the people he employs and surrounds himself with.
I initially was very concerned about hiring a stranger and having people that I didn’t know in my home. Having gone through the entire process, I realize my concerns were completely unfounded with Northwest Remodeling. Omar quickly transformed from a stranger to a partner. He was committed to making our basement project perfect. Whenever we hit an unforeseen construction or design roadblock, Omar’s resourcefulness, creativity and resilience shined. He always came back with a solution or options to keep the project moving forward and he never once sought a quick fix or an easy way out. We were continually impressed with his attention to detail, response to feedback, and response time/availability whenever we had a question or a concern.
Our basement has now been finished for four months. I purposefully waited to write this review until after we had a chance to live and play in our newly finished space that includes a family media room, office, full bathroom, dry pantry, and the laundry room of my dreams. I can honestly say that the basement looks and works as great as the day it was finished. We had such a positive experience and look forward to working with Northwest Remodeling for our next custom home improvement project.
