My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Alta Vista Builders and Consultants is an award winning full service custom construction firm. In business since 2006, we have done everything from small residential, to custom homes, to light commercial jobs. Beginning in Denver as a basement and single family home contractor, we moved into the log home market in 2008. 2010 saw the opening of our Austin office and the addition of consulting services. We have built in some of the most demanding environments and building jurisdictions in Colorado and Texas. Our experience can work for you in most any capacity including Log Home, Consulting, and Custom Homes. We used Alta Vista Builders to build a large, 6 bedroom, 5 bath custom log home in Grand Lake, Colorado, as they have extensive experience and a skilled local crew associated with Jeremiah Johnson Log Homes based in Colorado. At first, I was hesitant to use a builder from out of state (TX), but his crew was local and Tim Stegall (owner of Alta Vista) was extremely communicative and responsive and spent a full day onsite once a month during our 20-month-long process. He was available anytime I had questions, and always had a positive can-do attitude. Building a log home is extremely complex, and isn't without hiccups, but through every challenge, Tim Stegall was immediately accessible by phone, worked diligently to solve the issues, and always made things right even when it was subcontractor mistakes out of his control. Tim showed so much integrity, honesty, and kindness throughout the build, and I greatly appreciated the genuine relationship that was formed with Tim and all the crew members. It's rare to find a contractor/company owner these days who exhibits the level of transparency and genuine commitment to customers as Tim Stegall/Alta Vista, and we are thrilled with our gorgeous log home. We recently hired Tim with Alta Vista Builders to remodel and add an addition to our 1959 ranch home in Golden, CO. He was able to jump on our project right away and we have been incredibly impressed with the communication, speed and professionalism thus far. Pricing is transparent and he works to help keep costs down while also creating a beautiful product.

Tim helped us out when our original builder quit our home build. He took us through the process to finish up our house, helped us find reputable contractors to complete the work, and inspected and supervised the work to completion. With Tim's advice, assistance, and tireless work, we were able to complete our home and move in a week before Christmas. Best present we ever had. Tim's professionalism, honesty, and knowledge saved us thousands of dollars! We wish we would have worked with him from the get go!
