About Us

With over 25 years in construction and 20 years in St. Tammany Parish, St. Joseph Homebuilders offers high quality construction. Reasonably priced homes are offered with superior materials and craftsmanship. Even in the modestly priced speculative homes the commitment to first rate value is evident. Our desire is to provide an excellent product that is reasonably priced and expeditiously delivered. Don Damare of St. Joseph Homebuilders, was born in New Orleans and graduated from USL in 1974. He began renovating houses in Lafayette in 1977 and has been building homes in St. Tammany Parish since 1996. He resides in Folsom, and has been married to Donna Shiell for 22 years. Proud father of four children: Angelle Marie, Jacques, Chase, and Boyce. He is fully licensed and insured.

We hired St. Joseph Homebuilders to build our home. We were surprised how quickly the project was completed. As the construction was going on, we actually had some changes to the original plan and Don worked with us to make the changes to allow our specific needs to be met.

We used St. Joseph Homebuilders for our home in Folsom and were very pleased. Don had great coordination with his subs and was able to get our home built in just 4 months! We have been in our house for 15 years and still love it! No structural problems whatsoever. Solidly built house.

We’ve not only hired Don once but three times. We hired him to build an addition and partial remodel to our home. It was beautifully done at a very reasonable price and finished a tad early. The second was when our home flooded and he did the partial rebuild for us! He put our home back together and better than ever! The third time was building a deck in our backyard which was also beautifully done! I cannot say enough great things about Don and his company. They are very professional, treat you with respect, and they get the job done correctly! He is definitely our go to contractor! I’ve included some photos but wish I had better because they don’t do him justice!
