When we decided to remodel and update our home, we knew just who to call. From our initial meeting to completion of our project, Chapman Design Group exceeded our expectations. In some places, we knew exactly what we wanted. Don saw that It came to life. In other areas we had no idea or plan, but Don had a vision and wowed us. He also had the foresight to “see” things we couldn’t (such as re-screening our porch for less visual clutter). The team at Chapman Design was professional as well. For years, I lived in homes with generous square footage. After my husband’s passing I wanted to downsize. But, after seeing many homes, I found that downsized usually meant downgraded quality. When my husband and I decided to downsize to a smaller home, we already knew where we wanted to go. Don Chapman's Stonebridge at Rankin's Lake was the only place we considered. The homes in the neighborhood are all very attractive and well-built. In the months of construction of our home, we were amazed at how easy Don and Amy made our experience in all the decisions we had to make. We also found every single person involved in the construction to be very professional and experts in their field. The craftsmanship is topnotch, and we are very happy with everything about our beautiful home.

We met Don and Amy Chapman in 2003 through a business venture. So, when we decided to have an old family home renovated, we knew we wanted Chapman Design Group to do the renovations for us. After seeing the beautiful plans, we could not wait to begin the work. In July 2018, the work started. We expect to have everything completed by February 1st. I met all of the subcontractors. They all do very professional work and are all very pleasant, helpful and willing to accommodate all of my design wishes. The site manager, Doug Chapman, was also very nice and easy to work with. He was always available and made sure we were abreast of every situation. The final results far exceed our expectations and wildest dreams. They are capable of providing "good, better and best". And they specialize in offering "better and best". This was a very emotional undertaking for us and Chapman Design Group completely preserved the charm and character of my beloved family home. And in addition, they provided new and up-to-date amenities that we love. I am very proud of the work and we cannot wait to move in!

Chapman Design Group did an excellent job for us. Don Chapman is a very talented architect with a staff that is first class. We were very impressed with his framing and finish carpentry crew... they were great! He drew the house plan, built the home, and gave us a reasonable estimate as to when the house would be completed. His budget estimate was in line, so no shock at the end of construction. We were very satisfied.

Our experience with the Chapman Design & Build Group was wonderful. Don took our suggestions for what we want and incorporated them into our new home. We were encouraged by the "can do" attitude that Don and his wife Amy have. The process of making decisions about what goes into a new home is always difficult but Don and Amy always listen and encouraged us. Don was able to make our ideas come to life. He was able to accomplish almost all our goals. When he couldn't, there was good explanation and reason for why it wasn't feasible. He has an eye for detail that makes things complete. Our project ran over our budget and timeframe. Much of this was not foreseeable due to weather and hidden construction issues is the remodel. We decided to sell our home and downsize after 39 years. We were excited to build a new energy efficient home designed by one of the most well thought of Architect/ Designer/ Builders in our area. Chapman Design Group. It is truly a hands on , Family affair and perfection driven. We are thrilled with our new home and all the special features we chose from beautiful crown molding to heated bathroom floor tiles to the gorgeous Bar designed by Don Chapman for us. We cannot say enough about the kindness, willingness to please, hands on of everyone who worked on our House . It was truly a very pleasant experience for us.

It was a pleasure to work with the Chapman team on my new home in Stonebridge at Rankin Lake. The process was relatively easy with the excellent choices on options and standards. At the same time it was great to be able to customize the most important room in my home , the kitchen. We purchased a 10 year old house that Don built and had him add 2 additional rooms upstairs. During our initial viewing of the house, we were amazed at the quality and how well it had been maintained. Even though it was 10 years old, it looked almost new. Since he designed and built the house, he knew exactly what needed to be done to the framework to support the additional weight of the upstairs addition. He was able to design around the attic and stairwell structure to give us the additional square footage we needed. We have been happy with the quality of the existing home and the additional construction upstairs. Our friends are amazed that it wasn't a brand new house. We love the neighborhood too!

We engaged Don in 2014 to design and build (with his brother Doug as the GC) our home here in Rankins Lake. No regrets. Don was a consumate professional and easy to work with. Don's wife Amy was a big help with our project also. Don and my wife, who is an architect's daughter, hit it off wonderfully. Lots of ideas and nice changes created a most livable and lovable home for us. Don and Doug used very good and reliable subs who did a great job all the way to the finishing which was outstanding. Since, we have recommended Don to friends. And not surprising, they are making their way to Rankins Lake.

Don created magic. Twenty years ago my parents bought a run-down, 1970's split-level lake house in Hartwell GA. The only thing the house had going for it were great views and a solid foundation. It was a boxy, chopped up space. Enter Don Chapman, his design turned 2,200 feet of small ugly rooms into an open space with sweeping views. He thought of everything, placing the table so it wouldn't block the view from the sofa, expanding the screen porch so you could see the big water, putting in a desk that hid cords and housed all the files. We were one of Don's very first projects. My parents, my family, my siblings, and all our kids and their collective friends loved that house for twenty years. Don made 2,200 feet feel like 4,500, we could sleep three families and even hosted 100 person family reunion! There was not one single space we didn't love. Don's work stood the test of time. My parents becomes known as the people with the Great Lake House. When my father passed away, the home sold for top dollar the first week it was on the market. Thanks Don for creating a space that enabled our family to enjoy the lake, our soundings, and each other for twenty years.

Three months after the completion of our Chapman Design kitchen renovation in 2015, Ted and I suffered a house fire. Don and Amy arrived within hours to assist. Imagine our relief when he immediately agreed to design and build our new home. Given our profound trust in Don and his staff, we have been so blessed to have such a large and important part of our fire recovery handled for us worry free. We gave Don few instructions. “You know us and you’re the best! Just design and build us a house!” What he created was beyond our wildest dreams and exceeded all expectations. We are stunned and still cannot believe it is our home. The Lantern was, without doubt, divinely inspired. I had witnessed this in Don’s work before but never firsthand. His design was very personal as he created special areas for each of us including a mixology room, a study facing the lake, and a reading nook with a 7’ window at the top of The Lantern. The surprise of it all: Don had no idea of the significant meaning lanterns carry for us. God works wonders through Don Chapman. How fortunate we are to have been recipients once again.

We hired Chapman design to renovate our existing home and build an addition. They have been outstanding to work with from the architectural plans through the construction process. Don Chapman had to design the addition to look like it had always been part of our 30 year old house, but he updated it as well. He did an outstanding job. Doug, his contractor, made sure everything got done in a timely manner, while communicating with us regularly. He also was proactive about informing us of any expected slow downs. This was an outstanding experience with an exceptional team of professionals. We will work with this company for any future project, and have referred several people to them already

Don Chapman, owner of Chapman Design Group, is a man of integrity and trust worthiness. He helped us renovate our mid century 70's home to a beautiful up to date mid century home. As a designer Don LISTENS to understand his clients wants and vision for their home. We really appreciated Don's cost consciousness during the entire process. He is quick to offer his recommendations and advises his clients on alternatives to achieve the look and quality the client envisions at the most economical cost. Don is involved throughout the process and beyond. After the renovation work was completed we incurred a flood in our basement. All the floors and part of walls had to be replaced. Don and his team came to our rescue immediately helping us to get our house back in order. The updates we made to the flooring turned out to be even more beautiful than before. We think very highly of the Chapman Design Group and highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed.

Building our dream home could not have been a better experience thanks to Don and Amy and Doug Chapman. We couldn't be happier with the final product. Don's ability to come up with the perfect house plan for our lake property was amazing. He took time to get to know us, really listened to what we wanted, made wonderful cost saving suggestions, and kept us reigned in with regard to the budget without ever compromising the end product. The Chapman Group designed and built us a perfect house on the lake. We gave them some wants and needs to work with and they pulled off a great design right "out of the gate". We made just a few tweeks to their proposed plan and off they went. Their ICON Construction crew went to work and about 8 months later we were done. Chapman Design and Icon construction planned and executed an addition and whole house remodel in 2012/2013. They took a nondescript 80's home and transformed both the exterior and interior in a dramatic and useful way in both finishes and flow. Additionally, they provided a new sense of arrival to the property and supervised and guided us with a new pool and landscaping. No detail was too small for their attention and they made the rather difficult process of such a substantial project as painless and effortless as possible. They also stayed in contact to ensure our satisfaction on an ongoing basis. Would recommend them without reservations.

Don, Doug, Amy and their pros moved us from a frustrating house search to a renovated home we truly love. Chapman Design Group saw the potential to turn a 60 year old unique 2 bedroom home into the 3 bedroom home with a modern kitchen we desired. Don brought creativity and style to the design that exceeded our hopes for the house while maintaining period-appropriate detailing and congruity. Don's and Doug's eyes for detail brought an exacting standard to the finish of the house. They worked within our budget even as they adapted to the surprises and challenges of retrofitting and renewing a 1950s house. Chapman Design worked with a cadre of gifted craftsmen to perform the work on our house, all of whom were courteous, professional (they showed up when they said they would and cleaned up before they left), and skillful in their work. We could not be more happy with our home renovated with the care of the Chapman Design Group. Throughout the process we felt, and knew, that we were working with friends as well as builders. The work on our home included: - foam encapsulation of the attic (for efficiency); - new kitchen layout with new cabinetry and appliances; - the creation of an enclosed laundry room; - the renovation of a dining room into a bedroom that included the creation of a closet and addition of two doors; - the creation of shelving and mantel in living room; - other painting and updating throughout the house.

We started working with Don shortly after purchasing our Anderson home in 2007. We were looking at major renovations to make the home "ours". From the beginning, we knew we made the right choice in The Chapman Design group and sister company Icon Construction. Total renovations were done 3 different phases (our request) over two years. Through it all Don & Doug were there for us every step of the way, from the many requested design changes for the new kitchen through actual construction details. They answer the phone, return calls, show up on time, stay with the job until completed and do excellent work to boot. All their subs were meticulous in detail (I'm quite picky), polite, respectful, and no loud music! All involved in design and construction were very professional, knew their trades well, and completed the designs and work in a timely manner. Four years following completion of the new GeoDeck (avoid that product!) composite deck, it began to warp and buckle. I again called on Don & Doug for advice as to what to do about it. Doug stepped in and took the lead trying to get the company to honor it's 25 year "warranty" (they ultimately wouldn't) but again were there for us in trying to find a replacement product and provided the labor to completely replace the deck although they were certainly under no obligation to do so. You won't be disappointed with either the design work from Chapman Design nor the work of Icon Construction should they complete your project. We HIGHLY recommend them. To this day, my wife still stands in "her" new kitchen and the master bath and professes her love of each.

I have known Don Chapman for nearly 15 years. During that time, he has designed and built two homes for me and remodeled a third. From a professional standpoint, he is no doubt the best architect I have ever worked with. A good listener, Don has the talent to take ideas, get them on paper and produce an superior product. Don Chapman of Chapman Design developed the design for a screened porch and covered pation addition to our 20 yr old home. The design developed was unique, met our needs, and blended with the style of our home. We selected the construction branch of this group, ICON, to build our addition. Doug Chapman provided project management from start to finish. All contractors were professional, skilled, and easy with which to communicate. Day to day communication from Doug was thorough but not disruptive to our work days. Don continued to provided design input. The project was finished on time and within budget.
