Blessing Landscapes

Blessing Landscape transformed our back yard into a beautiful garden. From start to finish we were impressed with their professionalism and artistry. We have wanted a change for many years but every time we tried to get a quote, we were given astronomically high prices, or were asked to deposit thousands of dollars for plans or designs. Blessing sent Sarah Lowles out for a look and she drafted up an estimate that showed us all our options from the basic up through the ‘cadillac’ version. She understood what we wanted and thoroughly discussed everything with us. Throughout the project she checked in to make sure everything was as expected. Hidilberto & Alejandro worked tirelessly to demo the back yard, lay down new pavers, install liners and pea gravel, install a new drip system, plant dozens of plants, and lay out stone pathways. They were professional, fast, and cleaned up at the end of each day so we could access the yard. Dave & Emily Dillon kept in touch throughout the project to make sure everything was on track. I highly recommend Blessing Landscape, we are delighted with the result. They subcontracted Cascade Fence & Deck who also did a brilliant job installing a fence, back stair, and custom covered structure

The team did an amazing job beautifying our existing waterfall. It came out looking better than we could have imagined.

We hired Blessing to completely redesign our front and back yards, including removal and replacement of the existing front and back wooden decks, construction of a paver patio in the backyard, and removal of the old landscaping and implementation of the new landscaping. We wanted to go with a low maintance design, with no grass, and with drought-resistant non-invasive species, very loosely inspired by aspects of traditional Japanese gardens. We also had four existing trees in the backyard we wanted to preserve and integrate into the new landscape. They also offered to do lighting and irrigation installs but we did not pursue those services. Overall we are happy with the design and implementation. We had one meeting to look at the yard and explain what we wanted, received a design from Blessing, and did one round of complimentary revisions (mostly just changing some of the specific plants - and up to two revisions are included for free). Blessing does not do any wooden deck work themselves, but they subcontracted the deck work so we didn't have to deal with a separate contractor, and project managed everything for us as one project. The crew they hired to do the new deck (and demo the old deck) did a great job. I don't recall if our paver patio was done by Blessing directly or also subcontracted to a third party, but that turned out very nice as well. We did have a couple hiccups in the project. First, our contract with Blessing stated the deck would be stained, but there was some miscommunication between Blessing and the deck subcontractor, who did not include deck staining in their contract (and in fact does not provide that service). However, in the end Blessing covered all additional and unexpected costs related to bringing in an additional contractor to stain the front and back decks, who did a great job, and I think speaks very well for the integrity of Blessing as a company. After the landscaping as installed, we also found some plants were missing, including some large plants like 3' tall pencil bushes and 6' tall vine maples. I don’t really know how that happens, and I wasn't pleased that we had to find this for ourselves and it was not detected by Blessing, but when we contacted them about it they did make it right fairly quickly and without any kind of argument, including locating and installing the missing plants, and relocating some plants that were in the wrong place, and throwing in a few free plantings as well. They were very responsive throughout the whole process, from design to completion of implementation, so we never felt left in the dark or like we didn't know they would complete the project. So in summary, I would say the implementation phase could definitely have been a bit more organized and gone a bit more smoothly, but at the end of the day we’re very happy with the design and with the final implementation, so it all worked out, and Blessing was easy to work with throughout. Despite the hiccups we mentioned I would still recommend Blessing, as the overall experience was good, and the final product looks great!

The designer and I cooperated on the design of our front garden and 2 revisions were included in the price - which was half what I was prepared to pay to another designer. I only needed one revision. I loved the variety of plants the designer used and he really listened to what I wanted. The installation crew were fabulous - hard-working and efficient. The hard scape they put in is perfect. Paths and boulders look spectacular, as does our refreshed swale. They worked on a very wet and nasty day to put these elements in. There was a small mix-up over plants - our project was done in winter and some plants weren't available. Last-minute substitutions led to confusion, but when I brought this up, credit was issued at once with no questions asked. We will be using Blessing Landscapes again to design our back garden.

We've worked with Blessing Landscape on two projects over the last couple of years. They did some hardscaping for us and also took out an old water feature. In each case, we got a highly detailed proposal that honed in on our key goals and showed us exactly what we were paying for so that expectations were set appropriately. The crews that worked on each project were professional, knowledgeable and efficient. The project costs were very competitive and they've honored their product warranties. We would highly recommend the company.

Blessing Landscape services were beyond our expectations! They totally landscaped our backyard to perfection. We had very few issues, however anything that came up was fixed quickly and to our satisfaction. They stayed in contact with us before and during the project. Hi Jesse, Just a quick note to say “thank you” for the wonderful work your team did landscaping our yard. Stacy’s mom passed away this spring and her garden was one of her joys. We decided to use some of her inheritance to landscape our yard in her honor and memory. Roger put together a fabulous design that clearly reflected that he was listening to our desires. Throughout the project he was responsive to our questions and helped us with a few changes along the way. Ruben did a great job supervising the crew on site and making sure we were happy at every stage. Most of all I want to commend the guys who had their hands on the shovels. Euclides, Mariano, and Eddie were the three who were on site most often. They worked hard, respected our home and our neighborhood, and cleaned up each day. But more important, it was obvious they cared about their work and that it was done properly and to our satisfaction. Just one short example. Toward the very end of the project they were getting ready to install new sod. Mariano noticed that the type of sod that arrived in the order was different from the existing grass at our property. We might not have noticed until the grass was already installed, but he knew right away. So he called Ruben, and Ruben called Roger, and he called me to let me know they’d have the correct grass on site the next day. Thanks again, and please extend our thanks to your entire team.

This company was very personable and professional. They took the time to understand what it is we were looking for in a landscape design and never tried to "sell" us something we didn't need. The work crew worked really hard, cleaned up at the end of each day, and completed the job even more efficiently that we expect. I highly recommend them.
