Karen Lane Designs

We had our kitchen design done by Karen in the summer of 2024 - Karen came to our home in Cincinnati, OH, where we had gutted the kitchen previously down to the studs and plath. She immediately (literally, immediately) saw a vision for the space that fit our aesthetic and home style! She walked us through our options, explained concepts to us like the work triangle, and even managed to make some extended space of our kitchen work. Her mock-ups were well detailed and she was patient with us while we went back-and-forth with questions and changes to the plan. She even spent extra time with us walking through our house making additional style suggestions, and generously spent time on the phone with me explaining how to tie rooms together through style. It is clear that she is well versed in many styles as opposed to the uber modern white/gray look that most have and that was important to us. We would definitely use her again!

When deciding to renovate our kitchen and master bath, we knew we wanted to work with Karen. Well before construction began, Karen designed our kitchen and bath, including all the bells and whistles we didn't know we needed. Knowing how we wanted the finished project to look, Karen painstakingly helped us choose all the materials. She had a great knowledge and sense of what's new, what's worth it, and what's best for the project. Throughout the construction, Karen was an excellent communicator and had clearly taken it upon herself to learn about tiling, plumbing, electric and finishing so when a problem arose, she could be a helpful part of figuring out a solution. I told Karen many times throughout the renovation she was a work ahead, not from behind kind of designer. She always anticipated and was ready for what happened next. At the beginning of the project, Karen asked if we wanted to renovate the master closet as it was next to the bathroom. Initially, the answer was no and she left it alone. Then, we started to realize it was speak now or forever hold your peace about the closet, so we changed our minds. She quickly designed the closet, had the cabinets made, and it didn't slow anything down! Not only did she design the kitchen, bathroom, and closet, but also she had the cabinets made in Indiana where she lives and sent installers to put them in in South Carolina where we live! Also, she helped us pick out and order furniture, pictures, and decorative items. She wanted our house to be a home as badly as we did. On a project like this, after the big things are done, it's the little things that just complete the project. Karen sees the importance of both! Karen is a wealth of knowledge and we are glad we let her, as the expert, lead us from decision to decision! That's what helped us get the perfect results we were hoping for! Actually, she earned 10 stars, even though they only allow a max of 5!

Karen is amazing! She’s great to work with and easy to contact! She does all she says she’s going to do and more! She’s up to date on the latest trends and classic designs. I would recommend her for every stage of remodeling or decorating!

Karen helped us with our recent kitchen remodel and was great to work with! She had a lot of great ideas and made sure we knew all of our options on different things. Karen assisted my wife and I with many details during the construction and design of our new home. I can say, without a doubt, that the build process was made 1000% easier with her input and guidance! She was a great listener to what ideas/concepts we wanted and then used her expertise to give us exactly what we desired. Karen is very thorough, knowledgeable and has great insight. She will offer as much of her opinion as you like, while still respecting your own! The relationships she has formed and the contacts she has play a part in her success; especially during times of Covid. In addition to designing and communicating with our contractor and sub contractors, Karen took care of designing, ordering, and shipping items back and forth etc. She took care of any hiccups immediately! We live in an old home and demolished our kitchen/dining area. Karen made sure our design reflected the era our home was built. She thought of every last detail. We LOVE our new space!!!!! We hired Karen to help us transform our basement into a cool teenage hangout as well as an adult space including a kitchenette, billiards and theater areas, and bathroom. We wanted to do something different than our main floor but keep the rustic urban vibe. She not only met our expectations but hit it out of the ballpark with her vision and her expertise! We were blown away with her suggestions and recommendations. When it all came together, the final project was amazing we couldn't believe this was our living space! Karen knows construction and she knows exactly how to navigate the issues of a remodel! Karen took care of all of the heavy lifting on the project so we were able to work and not worry about what was going on in our home. She made a lot of the decisions that we would normally have had to make. She took the time to explain what was going on. We could be as involved as we wanted to be. After working with Karen, we would trust her with any remodel, any new build or referring her to clients. She is amazing with her insight and knowledge of the process!!
