Jennifer was an absolute joy to work with on our latest photo shoot! This was an all day photo shoot for a new build and her experience and skilled eye shifted the result from good to phenomenal. She is professional, easy to work with and exceptionally talented. Looking forward to working with her again!

My wife and I recently moved from an old, three story, 1870’s house in historic downtown Charleston, South Carolina to a very modern, 2,000 square foot apartment across the river from the city. The apartment was lovely but we didn’t like how we had staged the furniture we had brought with us and, we had no clue what we needed, or how we ultimately wanted the place to look. Jennifer Vreeland (Jen) of JV Design was recommended by a friend and from our first meeting we knew we had found someone with a keen ear for listening to her clients and who came armed with great ideas. The apartment has a shotgun style living room, dining room and kitchen layout. It has two full baths, a primary and guest bedroom, a small office, and a long entry hall. Jen recommended a beautiful rug, a shaker bench and an L shaped sofa with a chaise lounge for the living room. She also recommended placement for our artwork on the walls. She gave recommendations for furniture placement in the bedrooms as well as where we should hang more of our artwork. This included creating a gallery of framed sailboat racing pictures and awards I had gathered from my days of racing. She also quickly and effectively procured all the pieces needed to complete the design. One of our favorite “Jen designs” is a gallery in the long entry corridor. My wife and I recently visited Havana during the annual Cuban Jazz Festival. Jen pitched the idea of show casing the festival’s colorful poster along with three photos from the trip. The photos show us in downtown Havana posing in front of a pink, 1963 Pontiac Bonneville convertible in which we had toured the City. Jen had the photos enlarged, matted and framed. The photos and the poster will hang with an contemporary advertisement for Havana Club rum that is framed in wood from late 19th century Cuba. We love the overall finished design; it looks polished but not stuffy and Jen artfully integrated our love of travel and sailing throughout the apartment. Our niece’s first comment was that it looks like a page in a design magazine.

We absolutely adore working with Jennifer! She's incredibly sweet and a breeze to collaborate with. She effortlessly takes charge of picking decor, styling rooms, and adjusting props with an eye for camera angles, which results in amazing photos. She offers a wide range of color, texture, and pattern options for each room, giving them a unique style. Not to mention, she respects our budget, especially with the elegant floral arrangements she flawlessly selects. Our lives have been made so much simpler thanks to her expertise. My husband and I wanted to transform our kitchen that would stand the test of time and would have a touch of class and luxury. The kitchen renovation, with her design strategy, exceeded our expectations. She saw our vision and made it a stunning reality. Jennifer went above and beyond advising on colors, lighting, fixtures, quartz countertops and backsplash, and accessories. In addition, she worked with me on lighting fixtures, doors, and artwork, and a rug for our back hallway and brought it to life. I have used designers in the past and I have to say she is the best in the business. We cannot say enough about her experience and how easy she is to work with when it comes to design.

She has brought her expert eye, deep experience and positive energy to each and every aspect of our project. Jen is a perfectionist who understands the detailed process of both renovations and decor. Importantly, she also respects the budget she is given, and can work minor miracles with sourcing many items for less! She is equally helpful with the big stuff (sourcing experienced contractors for renovations and selecting large furnishings), and the small (comparing pillow fabrics and selecting door knobs). My husband and I are building our first house together. The thought of having to design and pick out everything gave me so much anxiety. That’s when I decided to get an interior designer to help me narrow down and help me with some guidance. That’s when I reached out to Jennifer. She has been an absolute life saver. She has been easy to communicate with and also took the time to get to know us and understand what we were looking for. She was open and honest. Just what we needed. Her eye and experience is amazing. Jennifer has been a pleasure to work with and if we decide to build again hands down would use her again!

When I first met Jennifer at my Bergen County, New Jersey home, there was an instant connection. I knew that choosing her to work with me as my interior designer was going to be a fun, awesome, and successful journey. Having come from a more traditional home for over 30 years, my new home is transitional, with an external french country style and an interior contemporary vibe. This is quite the challenge for me, but Jen's fantastic design instincts and sensibilities have allowed by home to blossom into a beautiful, sophisticated and warm environment. Jen has not only been creative with her ideas, mixing various elements of old and new, but she has also been conscious of my budget and tastes. We have such a wonderful working relationship. Jen is always thinking of my home, often sending me pictures of various items that would work well. She is quite resourceful, listens carefully, and knows how to pull a room together. Jennifer exudes professionalism, while exemplifying warmth, fun, and excitement in her work. Now that she has moved to South Carolina, our working relationship has continued to flourish, despite the distance. If I could give her 20 stars out of 10, I would. What a talented designer!!! We loved working with Jen to take our completely empty living room and transform it into our dream cozy library. She was able to take our vision and combine it with her expertise to create a beautiful, and more importantly, liveable space.

Jennifer worked with us on a whole house renovation following a fire. The project took a year to complete, mostly due to mandated shutdowns caused by the pandemic. There were also supply chain issues, which she expertly navigated. In any case, our experience was exceptional. Jennifer did a fantastic job working with our contractor, Arthur Lange Inc. She was on top of all aspects of the job. We met with the kitchen cabinet designer, and Jennifer was very helpful sorting through the wide range of options. Her design sense is incredible, we were so glad we listened to her, even when we were not sure how it would turn out. An example of this was the custom paint design on our attic stairs. She will work on any budget you select and will show a range of options. She follows up in case anything is delivered damaged. Highly highly recommend working with Jennifer.

We had a wonderful experience working with Jennifer. We added an apartment onto the house for my father while renovating our kitchen and family room. Jennifer was so helpful and respected our taste, my dad's taste, as well as our budget. She was always available to answer any questions I had at any time. I would recommend her without hesitation.

Jennifer really took the time to understand what I wanted, and deliver on it. She worked with, and completely captured, my ideas and wishes, rather than imposing her own, but elevated them to make them even better. When I didn't like something, she found more options. Our process was a dialogue, not a monologue. She was on top of everything--every email and text was answered promptly; she had great workers and tradespeople and supervised them so I didn't have to. I work full-time in the city and I could rely on her to sweat the details so I didn't have to be on-site. Plus she is delightful and fun to work with. She worked with, and was respectful of my budget, which was not high-end--but I feel like the results are! Everyone I show my apartment to loves it! I feel like I have a good sense of design, but I relied on Jennifer to help me make so many decisions and to act as my sounding board, and to provide the professional expertise and experience that I definitely don't have. I think her background as a decorating magazine editor gives her insight into real-world projects and solutions that many designers don't have.

Furnishing our home was particularly challenging for us; it's a contemporary structure that affords us a lot of light and openness, but my husband and I are traditional at heart. Jennifer knew how to masterfully blend the different styles to make it work and give us the look we wanted. She made our home our oasis, the perfect retreat, both serene and beautiful. Since then, we have used her for three other projects - a beach house, an office and a new home! The current project in our new home is only possible with her involvement. I wouldn't have the confidence to tackle this renovation it without her! She is the best!
