I worked with Christine to design and decorate my new condo. We worked collaboratively, and she excelled at the aspects of downsizing I found the most challenging—choosing which existing pieces to keep, which to refinish, and how to measure and layout potential new pieces. She was always prompt and professional, and went above and beyond to receive deliveries when I was at work. I would recommend her to anyone who wants an expert design collaborator. We worked with Christine on several elements of our home including color coordinating (paint, etc) and material selection of kitchen and bathroom countertops and flooring. We feel Christine took our project seriously from the get go. She was the only designer who offered to view the project in person immediately. Moreover, she went above and beyond by joining us at vendors/retailers for stone and tile selection. Not only does she have a real eye for beauty, but she also makes suggestions in such a well thought out and nonjudgmental way. Christine was a pleasure to work with. I gave her a general idea of wanting to redesign my space to be more of a Japandi aesthetic and she absolutely ran with it. Christine worked with my budget and brought the vision to life. I'm thrilled with how the space turned out. Christine did such a good job that I asked her to come back and get her expertise on what art I should furnish my apartment with. Overall I'm extremely satisfied with the entire experience and would highly recommend hiring her if you are looking to redesign or redecorate your apartment.

We originally reached out to Christine to consult on paint and carpet choices, as we wanted to make some cosmetic improvements to our home. The job expanded as we discussed options to enhance our living room as well - something my husband and I had considered for quite a while. Christine is very collaborative. She listens closely, and while she definitely brings her own design perspective forward, she also adapts quickly based on feedback. She has a lovely style - very diplomatic - and did a nice job working with both me and my husband to find the right balance as we made final choices. We were very happy with her design recommendations, as well as her overall manner and flexibility. She is a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend her.

Only raves for Christine Haenen. We had an unusual situation where we had to move my mother in law out of her home of 50+ years and into a new apartment to better accommodate her care. It was going to be a traumatic move and we wanted to make her as comfortable as possible and ease her anxiety and confusion with a finished apartment that was turn key ready. Christine listened to our concerns and wishes and ridiculous time line... 1 week. And she accomplished it all. She was able to source items and made sure they were delivered on time. She took the art work and personal items from my mother in law's house and displayed them in new, beautiful ways. In doing so she created a warm, beautiful and even familiar place that my mother in law can now call home. I couldn't be happier with the partnership. Christine was ALWAYS where she said she would be ON TIME. She is an excellent communicator. She is calm and steady (which really helps when you are working in such a high pressure time constraint). And we loved her aesthetics. She gets our appreciation and highest recommendation.

Christine was absolutely amazing and put together a beautiful family room. She listened to all of our concerns about the space and the final product was truly more than we asked for! We ended up with a functional laundry and a family room without any loss of space. Her eye for color was amazing and I loved that the walls are a subtle green - many people comment on how soothing the room is. In addition whenever an issue came up Christine was incredibly responsive. Keeping us updated on timing and delays. We definitely work with her on all my home improvement projects!

I moved into a new home (with way too much stuff and way too little energy) and it was clear almost immediately that I needed a design professional. My style is somewhat eclectic and over the years I have collected many pieces that I love, but in this new space I found myself with no idea where to place any of them and no clue what I should add to make it all come to life. Visionless, I chose Christine Haenen because her reviews were stellar, and I could also see by her portfolio of projects that she is comfortable with just about any style, from clean to funky. During the time we worked together on my project, she understood what I was hoping to achieve and made it happen. Just as important, she was an absolute pleasure from start to finish: professional, talented, creative, fair, considerate, punctual, reliable and kind. She had a way of gently guiding the process which helped me see my pieces in a new way; the end result is exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend Haenen Design Studios!

I have known and worked with Christine for more than 20 years. I originally hired her to work in my Art Gallery/Frame Shop. Over the years, she has completed a magnificent portrait of my wife, and completed many many design projects. She has been especially instrumental in installations and exhibition planning. She has advised me on numerous design and other art-related issues. She has demonstrated a solid knowledge about interior design, graphics design and she is a skilled, imaginative and creative artist. She is up-to-date on technology, the newest design trends, and the best use of materials and their alternatives. From Cad/Cam drawings and drafting to office and home decoration and staging in preparation for residential sales, Christine will provide you with the best solutions in a timely, efficient and cost effective way. Christine designed, created and installed custom hanging systems for two of my antique quilts. She was a pleasure to work with, and the quality of her work is outstanding. I am thrilled with the hanging systems, which look beautiful and protected the integrity of the quilts. She went above and beyond in installing them, one of which is at the top of a flight of stairs, and took great effort! I am happy to recommend her highly!

I'm writing this review to tell everyone of the wonderful experience I had with Christine Haenen. She drew a portrait of our dog who is getting up in years. Christine came to our house and met our dog, talked with me about her and listened to my ideas for the portrait. I provided a photo for reference but the expression and spirit she captured went well beyond be photo. I'm so happy to have a piece of original and personal art in my home. Christine is so talented and she is thoughtful and empathetic. She also framed the photo and it is beautiful. I know she does beautiful human portraits and I was so glad that she was comfortable doing a dog portrait. She was so lovely to work with and I highly recommend her.

I hired her to give my home a "face lift" on a budget and she was able to make powerful changes in artwork, paint, and upholstery to give my home an entirely new feel that is reflective of me. I highly recommend Christine for your next project. I had vetted several portrait artists for our large scale office project and I initially chose her as I found her to be the easiest to communicate with regarding aesthetics, scheduling, and pricing, and professionalism. Others were somewhat pushy and rigid, whereas Christine understood boundaries while maintaining her self-worth as an artist. Aside from talent (which is evident in her works shown on her website), I find personality to be equally as important when having something so personal as having your portrait drawn. Many people were very uncomfortable and skittish before their session with Christine, and she was able to disarm them with her pleasant and calming nature. Needless to say, the portraits came out beautifully and she even offered to help design the installation, which I believe speaks to the pride and care she takes in her work. I couldn't be happier with the outcome of the project and I would definitely request Christine again in the future.

Christine volunteered to come meet me to discuss my project of retouching a oil painting and retouching a Japanese screen. But instead I hired her since she offered to discuss my project at no charge to me; in addition she was sincerely interested in the details of the project. When she came to the residence she took the painting and the Japanese screen outdoors in the natural light so that she could do the retouching. That alone I was so impressed. She had velum paper to trace the object and we discussed how it would be placed on the oil painting; since it gave me something concrete to see how it would look on the oil painting. Then she gave other tips which I did not notice that there were areas needing retouching. I am extremely very happy of the work that Christine did on the oil painting; you cannot tell where the repair job at all and that is all that matters to me. Truly amazing job!!! Also happy with the Japanese screen retouching of a horse. I did not ask her for any other work but the retouching so I cannot comment on anything else. She truly enjoys her work and it shows.

Christine created a truly timeless memory graphite sketch of our newest family member from a photo of him at less than 3 months old. What Christine created was a hand crafted graphite drawing that brings out a personality and character of our grandson that will be cherished for a lifetime. Such a pleasure, our problems is do we gift it to his parents for Christmas, or selfishly keep it for ourselves........

Christine make an oil painting of my 2 1/2 year old grandson based on pictures of him. The painting was excellent and my daughter and son-in-law were very pleased with the painting. I would highly recommend Christine. She is very professional, gives you progress reports as the work is being done and completed the project on time.

I originally hired Christine from Haenen Design Studios to help me with the finishing touches and décor accents on my home improvement project that I had previously started on my own. I wish I would have hired her sooner. Her expertise and eye is impeccable and spot on. She is extremely easy to work with and I always felt very comfortable telling her if I liked or disliked something. She always stayed within my budget and really grasped the concept and look I was trying to achieve. Needless to say I have now hired her to re-do my entire home. I would include pictures however I am about 85% finished. I kind of don't want the project to end. She has been such a delight to work with and I would highly recommend her to any of my friends, family and colleagues.

I ended up going with a flat rate design project that Christine offered and am very glad that I did. She came to my house to discuss my kitchen remodel and then came up with a space plan and selected appliances, flooring, countertops etc. for my consideration. She did a great job and had ideas that none of the other designers I spoke to had! I don't consider myself someone easy to please as I tend to be a perfectionist, but she put in a lot of effort and has a great sense of design. I am continuing to use her on this project and am planning on getting her involved in some future bathroom remodels.

Christine helped us select flooring in three areas that flowed into one another, chose wall color for several rooms and a large common area, and helped us choose floor rugs and a few other furnishings. She also re-designed a guest powder room, and had some great ideas for two additional surfaces: a stair rail and a kitchen island. We had a wonderful experience with Christine and plan on using her services again in a couple of years when we do the next phase of remodeling. She understood our needs and our budget perfectly and worked tirelessly to make sure we were happy. She also helped us select the right people for the different parts of the job and made sure everything was done right. Christine is a lovely and caring professional and found the perfect balance between innovative ideas and our own taste preferences. I would recommend her wholeheartedly!

Serenity Care Health had the pleasure of working with Christine in the remodeling of one of our facilities in Santa Monica. We were trying to recreate a facility that would look more contemporary. Christine was extremely helpful in generating new design ideas and providing feedback with our suggestions, she went above and beyond. While working with her, she created numerous watercolor and computer-generated sketches, both of which were extremely detailed and depicted every aspect of the rooms. She is lovely to work with, efficient with her drawings, diligent, and responsive to every single detail. The management team was extremely satisfied with her work and ability to create each sketch in a timely manner. She is definitely talented and we appreciate everything she has done. We look forward to working with her once again!
