Monarch Development and Custom Homes is an award-winning builder that has been in business for almost 30 year and based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. When you undertake building a custom home, it's usually to fulfill a life long dream. You hope that with something so significant, you have confidence and trust in the people who will help you achieve this goal. It would be impossible to have a better experience with this than we had with Monarch. Starting from the very beginning, Shawn and her ENTIRE team of people, right down to all the contractors were exceptional. They were patient, guiding without being forceful, supportive, and most importantly - they LISTENED to us. And the workmanship, with every trade, was beyond belief. I have been in many custom homes over the years and have never seen pride in workmanship like I saw from all these people. And throughout the entire build, Monarch had a job supervisor in charge of the build. Scott was incredibly helpful and returned any calls from me within the same day. And upon completion, Shawn and a team of Monarch people spent 3 hours with us going over details and answering any questions we might have on the home. I realize the language I'm using may almost appear as exaggerated, but it is not. This was an incredible experience and I can't say enough positives or recommend this team enough. THANK YOU Shawn and all the Monarch family.

For years I would lay in bed at night with the dream that someday I could get out of LA and move to Idaho, or anywhere better for that matter. I’d look at custom built homes and be astonished at what craftsmanship went into these. But, one builder that kept popping up in my research was Monarch. I never really thought anything of it since I thought I was stuck in CA forever. Well, things changed eventually, and new opportunities opened up and I jumped....bigtime! A custom built home was coming true and so I met with three builders, but only one made me feel like they were going to build me the house that I wanted. That was Monarch. The others were pushing designs they already had plans for instead of going with my vision. Bottom line, I guarantee you’ll be ecstatic with what Joel and Shawn will do for you. Their team includes amazing people like Eric and Vanessa who are beyond professional, but so down to Earth at the same time. I truly loved my experience with them and miss the journey of building my home. Even the stressful times were awesome!!

My wife and I were looking to build a custom craftsman style home in Northern Idaho. Joel, Shawn, and their team provided us with the type of care and service expected by a premier custom home builder. Monarch’s professionalism, integrity, knowledge, and ability to follow through on questions, comments, and suggestions are exemplary. Their commitment to quality and detail is exceptional. One of the most important qualities I admire is how easy going and personable the team is, how approachable the sub-contractors are, their ability to work with you, amending plans and providing timely feedback. We made multiple changes to our original plans, adding a shop, extra fir beams, and custom stair railings. Their jobsite supervisor Eric is fantastic. Our home was completed on schedule in ten months.

Monarch built my beautiful house here in Wild Ridge Estates in Rathdrum Idaho they started building my home in April 2018 and finished in October where I left my state and moved to Rathdrum to retire with my wife, monarch went beyond my expectations and built us a gorgeous house on a beautiful piece of land in the mountains their quality work is exceptional, Monarch had an exceptional staff I would like to put a shout out to Vanessa who was extremely professional and made sure all my questions were answered and is always willing to help in anyway, also when I had a few minor things that I needed monarch to look at in my house they move on it immediately which to me is a sign of a great company taking care of the customer after you paid them the money means a lot to me and their customer service so far has been excellent I would strongly recommend monarch to build anybody who is looking for a custom home their attention to detail is awesome.

We met with 3 home builders and hired Monarch to build a custom 5 bedroom lake view home. Owners, Joel and Shawn Anderson, were outstanding from the beginning in helping us select a design and throughout the process with making countless selections of materials. They and their staff are always so patient and pleasant! Their staff and subcontractors were all of the best quality and provided the utmost care and attention to detail in building our home. Our project was not without challenges, but each time we faced an issue Monarch made every effort to resolve the issue to our desires. The finished project, our home, is beautiful and comfortable and everything we could have hoped for. I highly recommend Monarch! FIVE STARS!!! We could not have worked with a more professional, courteous, friendly, and trustworthy company to build our dream home. Each and every staff member made us feel like we were Monarch’s only client. From the beginning, Monarch quickly understood what we wanted in our new home. They often made suggestions that would make our living experience even better, yet also kept in mind our budget. For the vast majority of the build we lived out of state. When unexpected issues came up, as they will from time to time during construction, Monarch always timely advised us of such and clearly explained our options. We always felt that Monarch had our best interests in mind. As far as the finished product is concerned, the attention to detail and the quality of workmanship amazed us, and still does. We first tried to build our dream home with Monarch about 5 years ago however the market didn't allow for us to sell our current home. Fortunately recently the market changed and we were FINALLY able to build with Monarch. Our dream home is now a reality!
