Urban Kitchens did an amazing job redesigning and combining an existing bedroom, bath and study in our Norman home into a large new primary bedroom suite. Megan and Jo were great to work with and communicated with us regularly. They stayed on schedule and on budget. We have been through several remodels and none have gone as smoothly as this one. Urban Kitchens does it right.

Urban Kitchens built and installed custom bookshelves for us, and we are extremely impressed with the results. We approached Urban Kitchens to create some custom, wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in our study. They worked with us to come up with the exact design that we needed—when we were not sure what we wanted. Neila provided the best project management we have had, keeping the work going and moving forward at all times. We love the finished product, and have received a number of compliments on how everything looks. This is the second remodeling project Urban Kitchens has done for us, and we will definitely use them again.

We hired Urban Kitchens to renovate the kitchen of our 1940s home, along with several other major updates, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The project included not only a full kitchen remodel but also painting the entire interior of the house, refinishing our original wood floors, replacing every window to match the home’s historic style and even rebuilding our stairs. Our kitchen renovation was especially complex. It required solving a tricky layout problem with the basement entrance, which had previously been awkwardly placed inside a too-tall island. Urban Kitchens came up with a thoughtful solution that completely transformed the space. They also removed walls and doors and reconfigured a row of windows into beautiful French doors, creating a seamless indoor/outdoor connection that has completely changed how we use the space. The masonry work was so precise you’d never know the house hadn’t always been this way. Throughout the process, the team was both attentive and cost-conscious. They worked within the agreed budget, communicated transparently, and there were never surprise expenses — a huge relief during such a major renovation. The team listened closely to what we wanted and delivered exactly that, while also suggesting design improvements that elevated the entire project. Megan, in particular, was outstanding. She went above and beyond to oversee every detail while we lived out of state, ensuring the project stayed on track and stress-free for us. The end result is a home that feels both true to its original character and beautifully updated for modern living. Urban Kitchens just completed my complete bathroom remodel and I LOVE it. Jo and the team had completed my kitchen remodel several years ago, so I didn't hesitate to call for the bathroom project. When I would get nervous about some aspect of the job, Jo kept me in the loop and the project turned out so great. Then we asked for help to design the kitchen and family room renovation. Once again Jo, her team & the competent contractors she has used in both of our projects (kitchen in 2019) in our 30 year old Summerfield eclectic modern home have done a fantastic, quality job & made our Master Bath a functional, beautiful, happy place to be. Many of her workers are literally artists at what they do. We actually enjoy having them around and trust them in our home as practically family, which is a big deal. Some of them are literally artists at what they do. They include Derry (cabinet installer extraordinaire) Victor (perfectionist tile installer), John (who does anything & everything), Jessie (genius glass installer), Brad (construction idea man) Gabe, Jason, Meagan, Neila, and on and on. As with most men, my husband didn’t think we needed the changes, but now he is as thrilled as I am with his functional personal grooming area & his shower & tub. We trust Jo & her team completely and look forward to our next project….if my husband will let me :-)) Thanks to all of you!!!

Jo and her team were absolutely wonderful to work with on our whole house renovation. We were limited on time and Jo made sure the subs stayed on time and on target. Jo was SUPER HELPFUL! She created a new kitchen design for our old kitchen straight from the '80's. We removed walls, cabinets, flooring, electrical and plumbing. I loved her ideas. When I was overwhelmed with the amount of decisions to make, she was quick to offer advice based on her wealth of experience. Jo listened to my ideas and asked questions about how we live. Then she came up with the layout based on our preferences. She had lots of tips from where to look for appliances to how to decide on the types of counter tops to choose. She is well known in OKC and can make great referrals. She was patient with my myriad of questions. We got a set of drawings that helped us get our project started off on the best foot with a solid plan. We love how our kitchen came together and are so thankful for Jo's help. I wholeheartedly recommend Urban Kitchens!

About 15 years ago, we used Jo to remodel our kitchen in our historical home in Crown Heights. We were very pleased with that remodel. So, when it came time for us to remodel our kitchen and den in our current home, the first person that came to mind was Jo. Our kitchen was limited in storage and didn't have a good flow. Jo had great ideas to make the space seem more open and to provide us with more storage. Now, we have more space than we know what to do with!! She did a great job sticking to the budget and although, a few things delayed our timeline, the intent to stick with the timeline was always there. Jo and her team are fabulous to work with….such nice people and they are very respectful of doing work while you're living your life around the work! They also did a great job putting up with our dogs! We love the way our kitchen and den turned out….everyone who sees it says it looks like a totally different home! Highly Recommend Urban Kitchens!

We had Jo remodel and update our historic home kitchen. Jo was so easy to work with-she had great ideas but worked very well with our ideas too. Her team of craftsman were excellent. Eveything was done precisely and completely. We were so pleased with the kitchen, our next project, upgrading 2 and 1/2 baths were presented to Jo. She again did a superb job with suggestions and worked with our design ideas too. Again her crew did an excellent job. The budget was always discussed and Jo was respectful of our financial limits. Urban Kitchens updated our kitchen with a granite countertop, backspash, sink, hot water dispenser, under counter lighting, etc. They removed the bar height portion of the counter and used the existing cabinetry and trim work with amazing precision to make an extra large counter height work surface. Jo & Adam's contractors were great--very professional and extremely tidy. We love the end result; it makes us happy every day when we see the new kitchen.

Jo's company was very professional. We live in an older home and expected to encounter several problems when entering sub floor and walls. Although, we did encounter minor issues. Jo and her team strategized to fix the issues while staying on budget. The time of the project overall stayed up with the estimates renovation time and that's always a good thing. They did a pretty low-budget kitchen remodel for me. Jo and the designer (now gone) did a great job steering me toward choices that were in my budget and look great. I wanted something clean and modern (not the fancy stuff that is common around here) and they were right on board with that, unlike other contractors I have used. Their work crews were terrific -- they were possibly even more perfectionist than I am, coming back to "fix" things that I couldn't even see (like an uneven fur-down). My only problems had to do with unavoidable issues, like the electrician getting sick in the middle of the project.

Urban Kitchens did a complete renovation of my kitchen including floor, cabinets, countertops, paint, conversion of an electric cooktop to gas, and complete replacement of a soffit/paint rail around the whole room. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted, and everything was handled in a professional manner and they executed my vision perfectly, espeically given my rather small budget. Despite booking during the busy season, having 3 holidays, flu season, and waiting for a new drawer front after I changed my mind, the entire project took about 10 weeks, start to finish. Adam, the lead contractor, handled everything in a very professional manner, head painter Luis was a total perfectionist, and company owner Jo was a pleasure to work with. The mess was kept to a minimum throughout the process, and any question or concern I had (there were few) was promptly and satisfactorily addressed. I will likely be calling them again in a couple of years to redo the bathrooms. Thanks, Urban Kitchens!

We were fortunate to work with Joe for our kitchen remodel. We had bids and proposals from other contractors, but Joe was the only person who brought a truly fresh design to the table. She did an mazing job of translating our wish list into a reality, maximizing the space, and vastly improved the flow of the adjacent spaces. The bid was accurate, the timelines realistic, and the project was exceptionally managed. Two things really stood out: excellent communication, and the job site was cleaned up at the end of each day. This may seem to be a small detail, but it was a breath of fresh air to come home each day and not find a cluttered, filthy mess. I would highly recommend Urban Kitchens.

My husband and I couldn't have been more happy with the service and finished product provided by Urban Kitchens! Super easy to work with their designer, and their installers were amazingly. They designed our entire kitchen, and we keep getting compliments many years later! I recommend Urban Kitchens to everyone!

I just used Urban Kitchens and had a very disappointing experience. My entire project was light on design ideas and service was terrible. I communicated my disappointment several times and nothing changed. On several occurrences, Urban Kitchens went days with no progress and no communication. And, many times I was the one who communicated the details to the subcontractors because Urban Kitchens had not told them what to do. It was a very disappointing experience; exactly the opposite of what I expected from our initial meeting. The icing on the cake is the final invoice included several items which did not happen in my project! I cannot recommend Urban Kitchens.

As you can see from the photos, their work is obviously fantastic but beyond that Urban Kitchens also has good people and great customer service. I called today about some questions on a remodel project. Not only do they offer free, in-home consultations but Jo also provided me with some preliminary information over the phone which was specific to my house based on pictures. She listened to my questions, concerns and ideas and provided thoughtful and encouraging feedback. She was also very understanding of my budget and willing to work with me within it to create a fantastic bathroom without making me feel bad about having a rather modest ($8,000) budget. I was also impressed with the level of experience she has in remodeling historic properties, like my 1910 bungalow in Mesta Park. Whether we ultimately go through with the updates we want or not, I'm really glad to have found Jo and would recommend anyone wanting a fantastic bathroom talk to her.

Jo helped design and perfect our kitchen and bathrooms in our complete remodel of our 1920 four square prairie that had not been updated since the 1960s.

I had read an article in the paper about Jo Meacham remodeling a kitchen in a historic area of OKC and the client was so pleased with her work that when I decided to remodel our kitchen she is the only person I contacted. Jo came out to the house and she made everything so easy. Between Jo and those she works with in guiding us with the selection of the granite, stove top, back splash, sink, faucet, new disposal, glass in the kitchen cabinet doors, and installation, it was so easy for us in getting the kitchen we wanted. Urban Kitchens designed and rebuilt our kitchen in a Craftsman home built in 1921. They kept in mind the era from which is was built and made a modern convenient remodel in a very confining space. Jo Meacham listened to our needs and accommodated our wishes as best she could, but was direct about what could be accomplished. The bid was reasonable for the amount of work the team finished. We opted to paint it ourselves to save some costs, but the install was managed efficiently between five or more subcontractors. We recommend Urban Kitchens.

Urban Kitchens began as my kitchen designer and became my general contractor. Jo's background in architecture was a real benefit. She listened and designed a beautiful, original kitchen.
