Plain View is a design-driven Design-Build company that works with homeowners, builders, and developers to create quality spaces. Designing and building a project is a challenging experience whether you're a homeowner, builder, or developer. My wife and I set out to find a design for our new house and we wanted something unique that defined our family and our lifestyle. Plain View provided us the perfect opportunity to collaborate with an energetic, brilliant, and out of the box thinker duo that helped us design and ultimately realize our dream house. Tanner and Blake of Plain View took all of our wants, needs, descriptions, input and dove into even the simplest minute details like sun direction, views and lot position and put their own spin on it and came up with exactly what we were looking for. They were with us all along the construction journey helping and remedying any unexpected issues that would come up. Without Plain View Design our dreams wouldn't have been possible. My wife and I had a great experience with Plain View. When we first engaged them, they came to our build site, which was already established, for an interview. From that, they were able to create a design that visually "fit" within the existing site and buildings. They worked hand in hand with our builder, which kept us from being the go-between. They were responsive to changes and were straight forward with how the whole process would work.

5 stars. Good design begins with critical thinking about the clients core objectives. So when our son, Blake , got wind that we were considering a downsizing move from a rural wooded environment to a more urban environment , He and Tanner, asked some critical questions about the location of our project which lead us to a contrarian decision to not settle for the standard 55+ inventory in the sub-urban outskirts of Bismarck but to purchase a 40 year old condo within walking distance of our state capital, a cool residential neighborhood, and a rejuvenating downtown and turn it into a contemporary minimalist loft. Because we were moving from 2600 sq. ft. to 1400 sq. ft., critical thinking and design were required to maximize the use, comfort, and joy of each cubic foot of space. The reason I hired these guys was to ask the questions I didn't know how to ask. They might make you a bit uncomfortable at times with your thought process and press you on your goals, however in the end we are now living in the most enjoyable space we have ever been in.

We enjoyed the process of coming up with our new house design with Blake and Tanner. Just a year ago, they sat down with us at my husband's farm for a site visit and client interview. We are pleased to see the house framing that is now complete and await the next and final construction phases. The house truly reflects our personal style and melds with the rural landscape and existing out buildings.

We have had a great experience with Tanner and Blake. They were very easy to work with and had quite innovative ideas. We felt we had the perfect, customized experience. They were willing to work with us and make sure we had exactly what we needed from them as far as services they provided. Our situation was a little unique as we added to an existing commercial space. Their design was exactly what we had hoped for-Modern and edgey yet practical.
