Yet again I needed Alan’s guidance. What beautiful rooms he helped create to entertain my guests! I needed the correct scale of furniture for my living room because my couch was toooo big. The new bar piece in the dining room is very unique and attracts attention from the foyer.

I have worked with Alan Karlin Design for years - work has ranged from mini projects in my home to full scale renovations.....from basic consultation on color, placement/layout and purchases in existing rooms to consultation on large renovation projects (room additions, and complete room remodels/renovations). Two years ago we added a significant room and patio onto an existing home and Alan gave us advice that made significant, positive differences in the final product (ceiling, exterior architecture, room layout, contents etc.) in addition to decor within the room itself. Alan and his staff are extremely professional, easy to work with and listen to the client's interests and preferences and provide wonderful feedback and advice that is in line with my own personal tastes and budget. I have used Alan Karlin Design before, but this kitchen remodel was the largest project together in terms of cost and scope. They chose or helped choose all the major elements of the remodel, including counter top, appliances, sink, windows, window coverings, lighting and paint. They worked with the contractor to determine the best way to open up the kitchen to the family room, by removing a wall. Their recommendations were all spot on and were perfect for our house and taste. They took our input, but also guided us along the correct path to a beautiful new kitchen and living area. In addition, everything was complete within the scheduled time and within budget. I would highly recommend them for any design job, large or small.

I have known Alan for many years, and used him for many projects. He has designed rooms, picked furniture and accessories, chosen paint colors (even the outside of our house recently), and collaborated with other workers as to what I wanted. I trust his judgement, and he makes the "look" I am hoping for, happen! He is very honest and respectful of my budget! I have referred him to several thankful friends!

I love this man. He is delightful to work with and seems to find the perfect items for me. I have ordered a few things sight unseen and am always happy with my purchases. I have referred Alan to many of my friends. We all have different styles and taste and our homes reflect us - not him.

We have used Alan Karlin Design since 2004 and highly recommend him for all your designing needs. He designed our living spaces, bedrooms and basement - everything but our garage. Our last project was our master bathroom. He stayed within our planned budget, the contractor was great fixing something that I broke weeks after he had finished. Alan has the ability to combine the wants & needs of both my husband and myself and incorporate them into the finished project leaving us both happy with the outcome - we never argue over a design if we disagree we let Alan decide because we trust his talent, his amazing gift.
