JMC was referred to us by 2 former clients. During our first meeting, we discussed our vision & provided Jack with a sketch. He "tweaked" it and presented us with a plan to review. The work began in August, 2019 and we chose to live in the back part of our house during all phases of the project. JMC was considerate in their approach and made sure we had no dust or other issues in our living quarters. Jack was organized, detailed and communicative during the entire project. There were no surprises as we met regularly. His staff and the trades were professional, talented and competent. We will begin Part 2 of our remodel shortly.

The team at Jonathon McGrath Construction did an excellent job on our kitchen renovation. They were on time, stayed within the budget, and kept us informed and up-to date on the schedule. Very easy to communicate with and the job site was always kept clean and neat. They had an eye for detail - even the smallest details were always addressed. Professional from start to finish. Our summer kitchen and new outside is gorgeous and of quality construction. Jack, Tom, and their subtrades worked promptly and were responsive when needed. My wife and I used Jonathan (Jack) McGrath Construction to do a complete overhaul of approximately 80% of our 3000 sq ft 30 year old home in late 2017. It involved replacing all flooring, substantial changes to our master bath, master closet, kitchen, family room, dining room, entertainment/wet bar area, and conversion of our living room into an office/study. From the time of our first meeting with Jack, everything went smoothly and professionally. He provided an extremely detailed timeframe plan and budget which were then adhered to very closely. Jack was also very helpful in providing ideas and suggestions that we would not have considered. It was clear that in his many years in the business there was not much he had not experienced. His subs were very trustworthy, professional, and timely. The job could not have turned out better and we are currently working on plans for the remaining three bedrooms and two baths.

Trust, it’s the hardest part of picking a general contractor. It’s the most important decision you will make when selecting a contractor. Everything else pales in comparison. We interviewed many contractors, talked to all our friends who had work done. We listened to many horror stories. Trust is the most important thing to have. We went with Jonathan McGrath Construction, LLC., and it was the best decision we made doing this kitchen, family room, and laundry room, remodel. Jack, gets the job done. He knows everyone in town. He has been doing this for over 30 years. Jack and his wife have an excellent staff and know the good subcontractors from the bad ones. You do not want to find out the hard way. Jack has spent years finding good subcontractors, and you benefit from that experience. He takes ownership of your project and gets the job done the right way. As he said several times during this project “ Trust me on this”. I’m glad we did. Both he and his staff are true professionals. The contractors he chose were very good. Al, the cabinet installer is an old world true craftsman. Kevin, the cabinet designer did an outstanding job designing just what we wanted in a kitchen, and laundry room. Tom, the project supervisor knew where all the bones were buried and kept the job moving. He has the skills of all the contractors, and can do it all. Mary, the designer was great with the selections and interior design advice and color choices. Leslie worked tirelessly advising us on flooring and then supervising installation. The quartz subcontractor was top notch. This was not a remove and replace kitchen, we had major work done. Jack had the vision of what was possible to do with our home, and he made it all happen. He is very organized, he uses the latest technology to keep you informed on every detail of the job along the way. You can stay on top of the work and communicate with Jack and his staff very easily about any issue that comes up along the way. There are many that come up. Again , Jack, thank you very much. ‘

We've worked with Jack and Marion for a couple years now on multiple projects with our photography services. All I can say is that they are win-win people. The kind you want to work with over and over again. Their company exemplifies quality and integrity of the highest kind. We highly recommend them.

Ours was a major remodeling project and Jack was amazing helpful throughout the entire process. During design, Jack did not immediately accept all of our ideas, but patiently worked with us to advise us as to what was reasonable and what was not. He made innumerable suggestions that we would not have thought of, like putting in skylights in the bathroom and laundry. All of the work was of the highest quality. All of the workers were excellent with keeping the work site tidy and disposed of all debris. This project took over 6 months, and everything was done within the timeline Jack had laid out. We don't have any criticisms, but I feel we should mention that working with McGrath is not inexpensive. But you get what you pay for. When picking out materials, Jack arranged for us to meet with all top quality suppliers for the built-in appliances as well as for all of the flooring, tiles, and cabinets. He refused to let us work with any "discount" suppliers. Having said that, Jack was very up front from the beginning as to what things would cost, and there were no hidden fees or surprises. Perhaps the best thing we can say about Jack is how helpful he has been even after the completion of the project. He arranged for the subcontractors to come back and fix any issues we had, even minor issues, at no additional charge. (After all, when you pay top dollar you expect everything to be perfect, and Jack worked to make sure it was.) Jack has also continued to be available to us to help with additional smaller projects around the house... even on projects that he's not billing for.

We worked with Jonathan McGrath on a whole house remodel of our 1978 Longwood home--including a complete gut of our kitchen, guest bath, as well as an addition of a pool bath and mud room. We have done several other projects in our home with other contractors and the difference between Jonathan McGrath and the others in the industry is night and day. We were sold by reading the other reviews on Houzz and how thorough Jack seemed to be with other's projects. Our experience was no different from start to finish. Jack and his staff reply promptly to all issues (as there inevitably will be, the key is to find a contractor that cares enough to fix it and fast before it's too late in the project). He walked through the project often and his staff was always on site for all installations and generally overseeing all the subcontractors on a day-to-day basis to ensure quality control. Vendors we worked with were quick to sing Jack's praises--noting his attention to the smallest details and going as far to say he would be one of the only contractors to work with in the Orlando area. We are very happy with our remodel and are excited to take on another project on the exterior of our home this summer and following that a pool and summer kitchen remodel / addition. We highly recommend working with this firm.

We desperately needed a new kitchen in our home, since the original appliances had ceased to work well and no replacement parts were available. We also wanted to improve the flow of our home and get better access to our back yard, so this was going to be more than just a kitchen remodel. We interviewed several contractors before JMC, but they just didn't seem to understand what we were after, and didn't seem to bring anything to the table. We got a glowing recommendation from a work colleague about JMC, and asked Jack (Jonathan McGrath) to meet us in our kitchen to walk him through our needs. We were immediately impressed with his listening skills, his honesty, and his willingness to think through a problem. We decided quickly that he would be our contractor, though it did take us a little while to pull the trigger on the project. We were a bit frightened when his initial estimate came back much higher than we anticipated, but he worked with us to fine-tune the plans and prioritize our needs to bring the project within budget (or close to it; kitchen remodels aren't cheap). Astoundingly, he managed to do this without sacrificing some of the major structural work that helped make this project so successful in the end; another contractor might have just said "Well, the easiest way to make this cheaper is to not convert that window into a door," but Jack understood how important that was to the overall feel of the new design. We have a 1956 cinder block ranch, with some midcentury accents that we wanted to play up. Most of JMC's portfolio of work is in more ornamental styles, but we wanted to play up modern and midcentury aspects. Jack fully understood that aesthetic and integrated it into the construction plans. We knew we'd need to knock down a wall, and convert a window into a french door, and Jack figured out a way to make that happen for the lowest possible price and inconvenience. He also helped configure a cabinet plan that made the most of our storage space with the smallest amount of expensive custom work; this included creating a fridge-depth pantry space along one wall. Jack was very good about informing us of all our options throughout the process, and didn't make too many assumptions about how we'd want things. When he did, it was always because another option would have been prohibitively expensive. The project was on-time and on-budget. If a subcontractor fell behind, JMC found a way to crack the whip and get things back on track. The subcontractors were friendly and conscientious, and the work site was left clean at the end of every day. Our job foreman was a constant presence (even doing some of the finer work himself), and was very good about answering any questions we had, and relaying our requests to Jack or to the subs. JMC seems to have a good reputation with our government inspectors, and they didn't have any issues signing off on the work. JMC also did a great job of making sure that the 12 weeks of this project (yes, only 12 for a massive kitchen remodel and new patio, with structural changes to two walls) were as comfortable as possible for us. We have two curious cats and a toddler with asthma, but JMC made sure to keep the job site sealed up tight throughout the project, keeping dust at a minimum. They installed a laundry sink in our garage prior to starting the job, so we didn't need to wash dishes in the bathtub while the kitchen was out of commission. And they were very good about telling us when work would be going on, and how noisy it would be; since I work from a home office, this was especially important. Also, there was a dumpster and portapotty on-site for the duration of the job, so we were minimally disturbed (except for the loss of some driveway parking). We came into this with strong design opinions, so we didn't lean heavily on JMC's designer for things like colors, and only minimally on materials. We were also very comfortable picking out details like handles and lighting, and we did our own appliance shopping (JMC arranged delivery). If there was any problem with the project, it was that we didn't feel fully informed about cabinet accessories, and were actually surprised to discover a few choices that had been made on our behalf — almost like there should have been a meeting to go over pull-outs and dividers that never happened. However, I addressed this with Jack, and he and our foreman came up with a custom solution that they installed at no cost to us, and now I have an awesome pan storage solution that's the envy of friends and family. We recommend JMC to anyone looking for a remodel in Central Florida — and we've recommended him to friends and neighbors ever since our job was completed.

I've had the distinct pleasure of working with Jonathan McGrath on a complete renovation of our large lake front home in Altamonte Springs Florida. From the beginning we knew this would be a major job as we spared no expense in our selections. From the inside to the exterior the McGrath crew did a superb job, stayed within our budget and completed the project on time. Even after a year they continue to return and rectify the warranty items or adjust any flaws we discover. Working with Jonathan McGrath Construction was a great experience. We contracted with them for pretty much an entire house remodel. About ten years ago my mother-in-law had a room added to her home. The design, workmanship, and attention to detail by Jonathan McGrath Construction was nothing short of wonderful. So last year when my husband and I decided it was time to remodel our home I knew exactly what company I wanted to do the job. I didn’t consider anyone else but Jonathan McGrath and his team. I had my wish list that impacted every room in my home. The major work being the master bathroom which was a total demo and rebuild. Jack had some great ideas on the design and the finish product was more than I could have wished for. Jonathan McGrath Construction contracts with a group of electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and others who truly excel in their fields of expertise. They were all good. And I can’t say enough good things about Tom who is the Project Manager/Supervisor who makes sure everything gets done right and on time. Jack (Jonathan) is a perfectionist and his attention to detail is what you want someone to have who is remodeling your home. It’s been a year or so since our remodel was completed and anytime I have had a question about something that needed to be looked at they are always quick to respond. Their 'after the project has been completed' customer service has been wonderful. I know that if I ever have another construction/remodel project done I won’t hesitate to contact Jonathan McGrath Construction.
