Steve with Detailed Interiors is a true professional. His work is top notch and we are very pleased. He remodeled our whole downstairs by replacing carpet with hardwoods, tiling the laundry room, adding a laundry sink, and a full kitchen remodel. After meeting with several contractors, we chose Detailed Interiors based on Steve’s attention to detail and the recommendation of a friend who had also used him. At the beginning of the project, we were presented with a calendar that included a start date, end date, and project milestones. That calendar was spot on and we ended up with a kitchen/sitting room that we love and is so much more functional than what we had before. I’d also add that Steve maintains a pristine job site. We underwent a major renovation (wall removal, etc) and there was very little (if any) residual dust or debris. Steve used a dust barrier to keep everything contained in kitchen/sitting room area and out of the rest of the house. As a mother of a child with asthma and allergies, this was much appreciated. We were really pleased with the final product and hope to work with him again on future projects.

Steve has completed multiple projects for us, and we are so happy with the results that we start 2 more in January. Steve Matela and Detailed Interiors, Inc. is, without a doubt, the very finest contractor I have ever worked with! You will find him to be a straight forward, honest, skilled and organized professional who has helpful, up-to-date knowledge of materials and techniques, as well as excellent ideas for overcoming the challenges of a renovation project. The home that Steve renovated for me had a troublesome wall and cathedral ceiling where the sheetrock continually cracked. He investigated and analyzed the problem, and solved it effectively. Steve starts the process with a thorough site inspection, listening to the client's aspirations for the project. He then delivers a professional proposal complete with a project calendar, the scope of work to be performed, material and source suggestions, a price quote and payment schedule - no surprises. Steve does much of the work personally, and the subcontractors he uses deliver high quality results. My project was a complete renovation: demolition and removal down to the sheetrock and slab, then installation of a completely new kitchen and bathroom, with new floors, trim, lighting and paint throughout. The sheetrock on the walls and ceiling in this 38-year old home now looks brand-new, a 1st Class job. Steve keeps the project on schedule and on budget; the jobsite is always left clean at the end of the day. I am proud of my newly renovated home, and recommend Steve Matela and Detailed Interiors without reservation.

Steve did a great job on our home project. He is extremely professional. He was always on time and always communicating any updates on the project. He even found a product and solution for a detail we added during the project. He kept a very clean jobsite as well. So we weren't left with any mess after each day of work. His timeline never changed and he delivered the finished project exactly when he said he would! The end result was exactly what we wanted. He and his crew also wore masks for our safety and his.

Steve Maleta of Detailed Interior designed and completely rebuilt my 1990’s Tuscan kitchen into a lovely, spacious and updated light-filled kitchen. In addition, he removed the wall-to-wall carpeting in my front room and living room mending new hardwood floors to the existing hardwood floors in the hallway and kitchen. Steve is a wonderful contractor who delivers what he promises. He is meticulous and conscientious and will work until he gets the job done. At the beginning of the job, he presented me with a weekly schedule that he stuck to complete the job. He actually finished the job a week earlier than expected and sent me a revised schedule with the new timeline. Steve keeps a clean work site and did a good job sealing up the portions of the house that were not under construction, especially when the floors were being sanded. What was especially appreciated were the small details that I never thought of. One example is the floor heat registers were changed from the existing brass registers to inlaid wood, seamlessly matching the existing floors. Beautiful. Steve contracted out the electrical, plumbing, floor finishing, countertops and the cabinetmakers. All of his sub-contractors were professional and finished the job according to Steve’s schedule. I would highly recommend Detailed Interiors and Steve Maleta for any remodeling jobs. I would use him again in a heartbeat.

We hired Steve to remodel our kitchen for us this past spring. All of the reviews are spot on. Not only does Steve show up on time, he does quite a lot of the work himself. The tradesmen that he does use were very professional as well. He is meticulous in everything he does, from his schedule to the way he keeps your home clean throughout the process. He spent a day just enclosing the area to keep dust and debris out of our living area. His quote was extremely competitive too. We love our new kitchen and would definitely recommend him!

Steve Matela, owner of Detailed Interiors NC Inc., performed a feat of magic on our master bath. This was a major renovation - relocate and enlarge the shower and closet, tile the entire shower, floor and parts of the walls, install new double sink vanity and freestanding tub with faucet, as well as lower the vaulted ceiling. From our selection of one of Steve’s two original designs to the finished beautiful product, we were very impressed by the craftsmanship and attention to detail. The project progressed smoothly and we now have a master bath that has exceeded our hopes and imagination.
