Helga has the utmost patience scouring fabrics to find just the right ones. She also has a terrific eye and selected fabrics that would complement the accent pieces that I had on display. She is the best!

For a long time I wanted to remodel my 1960's kitchen, but I did not know how to start the project. I got a contractor and he said: "Do not worry, you will have a beautiful kitchen in 3 days!" So, he and his crew came in, did the demo, and I panicked! I did not have a kitchen design, so how could I have a kitchen in 3 days? My contractor was going to get me the ready made cabinets, and I did not like those. That is when I got on Houzz and started looking for designers. I wanted someone who is willing to work on small, modest kitchen projects, in a rambler that was built in the 40's. I found Helga, and she was amazing! She came to my house, and we talked, she saw the furniture I liked and listened to the wishes I had for my kitchen. We talked about what would work best in the space I had, what type of wood and styles I liked and what type of granite would work best with the cabinets I liked. Then, she sent out the "cabinet man" who spent some time measuring, and remeasuring the kitchen space and talking more about my likes and wants. In a few days I got the kitchen designs and the perfect layout. We agreed on price, style and color and the kitchen cabinets were ordered. In a few weeks they arrived, each cabinet carefully packed in a box. It was fun unpacking them, and admiring them. After installing the cabinets, I noticed two issues. I mentioned those to Helga and she reassured me not to worry, it will be taken care of. And it was! I am so grateful to have found Helga to help me, and guide through this rough time. She was always available to talk to me and give me ideas on how to proceed on the project. Thank you, Helga for everything. I will work with you again on my future projects. As far as my general contractor is concerned, I will never use him again. However, some of the subcontractors were wonderful, and I work with them again..

Helga helped us decorate the whole main floor of our home - family room, living room,dining room, and entry. The thing that we loved right away was that in the first meeting at our home she really listened to what we wanted to accomplish. She took time to ask us questions, and remembered all our likes and dislikes. We especially wanted to re-do our family room where we spend all of our time. The furniture we had was uncomfortable and lighting was poor. She created a new floor plan and helped us with new couches and chairs( which are SO comfortable) , as well as and new end tables and lighting. We have a craftsman home that had just a light beige color on the walls. Helga's choices of paint colors really brought out all the beautiful woodwork. Our home is now warm and inviting, and we are enjoying it so much. We are looking forward to doing more projects with Helga and would highly recommend her!

Helga was so nice to work with and the result came out fantastic! Our house was built in the '50's and the bathroom was "remodeled" in the '80's. Helga helped us choose tile, lights, etc to update our bathroom while keeping costs in mind. We were able to keep the existing cabinets (which were in good shape) but her other ideas made such a difference. She also helped me select a kitchen backsplash which looks incredible. When I first told my husband I was hiring an interior designer he didn't understand why I would want to pay someone to pick out things, but afterwards he said it was worth the investment of hiring a professional. We have made some expensive decorating mistakes before, so Helga's expertise helped us avoid that. Also, I am sure this was a small job for her, yet I still felt like it was at the top of the priority list for her. We are currently looking at moving from a house to a condo and I look forward to hiring Helga again in the future.

Helga has helped me with her interior design expertise relating to flooring, paint colors and types, and décor topics on several occasions. She listens well, has great ideas and has a sharp eye for what works and what doesn't in my home. She is also very flexible on scheduling which is important to me as I work quite a bit. I'll definitely call her first the next time I have a need.

We wanted new flooring for living room, bedroom and stairway. Helga understood our taste and found exactly what we liked within our budget. She arranged the order, delivery and installation. Her installer was top notch and did a fantastic job. Helga was a pleasure to work with and made the whole process stressless. We plan on changing flooring throughout the house and will be working with Helga Simmons for that and other future upgrades.

I began working with Helga in 2010. I found her through an internet search of local interior designers. I wanted a cosmetic makeover of our home and we also needed new furniture to replace the 1980's look from a former house that didn't fit my current house. I appreciated Helga's gentle encouragement to move forward in trying new colors, furniture styles, and upholstery. She substantially warmed up our home and we are always getting compliments from our guests. We had our entire home interior painted, our main floor carpet replaced, purchased new furniture and re-upholstered other furniture for our living and family rooms. She arranged to update and improve our lighting in our hallway and family room. I was very pleased with the work done by her lighting contractor, her upholsterer, her carpet installer, and her painter and handyman. Helga also designed a laundry room makeover. Helga is extremely easy to work with. She listens to my ideas and frustrations and works diligently to find solutions. She follows up promptly on every task, order, deadline, etc. I highly recommend her!

Helga Simmons is a very hard working, knowledgeable and creative design consultant. She listens carefully to needs and produces a plan to meet those needs. She is prompt, efficient, stays within budget and is very practical in her approach to the project. She carefully supervises the sub-contractors and is quick to solve any issue that may arise. We were so pleased with the remodel of our first condominium in 2004, we hired Helga again in 2007 to remodel our second condo. Same exceptional experience both times! We randomly found Helga through the yellow pages, and boy did we luck out! She is thorough and professional with impeccable taste. She worked with a wonderful contractor, Charlie Norton, whose team was friendly, warm, and always cleaned up perfectly at the end of the day. They both felt like members of our family after our two major projects. We also appreciated Helga's flexibility; she had a really clear vision for our remodel -- and didn't hesitate to urge us toward making good choices -- but she was willing to work our quirky ideas into the plan, too.

Helga SImmons remodeled the kitchen in our home. Her planning for cabinets, including creating more storage space, really has made a difference in making the kitchen more usable. The colors and materials for the cabinets, countertops, floor and walls really broughts our kitchen to life. Helga also selected colors for other areas of our home and we are very happy with the result. She was also mindful of the finances and successfully stayed within the budget. Helga's follow-up and customer service are exceptional. We have received many compliments because of her work.

Helga Simmons is an amazing designer! My wife and I used Helga to remodel the kitchen in our condo, she put in retrofitted lighting, did the entire color scheme for our home, and even picked out some artwork! We couldn't have been more pleased with how everything came out. The biggest project she did for us was the kitchen remodel. She did an outstanding job from the initial design to selecting the granite, glass tiles and other materials, to managing the contractor and subs to ensure the job was completed perfectly, and on budget.
