Elba Ocasio LLC DBA ENO Design

Elba was AMAZING!! She designed our recent kitchen and bathroom renovation, and we are SO grateful for her. We have been living in the newly renovated house for a few months now, and I think we say "we love Elba" at least weekly because the thoughtful of design of our new kitchen just....works so seemlessly. It's like she knew exactly what we would need, where we would need it, and predicted our movements within the space perfectly. Not to mention it is aesthetically gorgeous so it has improved our quality of life. Thank you Elba!!

I'll be honest. I wasn't sure what to expect going in. But from our very first call and visit, Elba completely won me over. She is everything you hope for in a designer and more. What sets her apart is how deeply she listens. She took the time to truly understand what mattered to me, asked the right questions, and made sure her priorities reflected mine and not just her own aesthetic vision. She communicates clearly and consistently throughout the entire process, so you're never left wondering what's happening next. Elba rolls up her sleeves and gets things done. She has incredible taste and a real creative eye, but she also brings serious practical skills to the table. She worked thoughtfully within my budget without ever making me feel like I was compromising. She found ways to incorporate pieces I already owned, and she even helped me sell some of my higher end items, going well above and beyond what I expected. And the final result? I absolutely love it. Walking into my space now feels completely different. She brought it all together in a way that feels cohesive, beautiful, and genuinely like me. That is the hardest thing to get right, and she nailed it. On top of all of that, she is warm, funny, and just a genuinely lovely person to work with. The entire experience felt effortless and joyful. I would work with Elba again and again without hesitation.

Elba was a pleasure to work with during our home interior design project. She provided detailed options for each room and helped us make choices that fit our vision and budget. Elba offered stylistic suggestions and, importantly, offered other options when ideas we had met roadblocks with shipping/cost etc. While working with her, I felt she listened to my vision, and kept a holistic view of the project in mind to help create a peaceful and warm design. We'd recommend working with Elba for any project you may have - large or small.

This is not a typical Houzz review, and while my project is still underway, I feel compelled to share my experience thus far to recognize Elba Ocasio—a remarkable and talented interior designer. Elba has worked wonders, rescuing what was a remodeling nightmare and guiding it toward becoming a beautiful sanctuary that I am excited to soon call home. Elba’s comprehensive understanding of all aspects of design and construction, paired with her exceptional problem-solving abilities, attentive listening, and professional communication, have been invaluable throughout this process. Her skills were especially critical when facing difficult decisions and tough negotiations, both of which were necessary to reverse the course of this project. The professional team Elba assembled to take over the remodel immediately rose to the occasion, consistently surpassing every expectation of “making it right.” Where there was once a stressful, adversarial environment, there is now a positive atmosphere marked by kindness, cooperation, and respect. I am deeply thankful for Elba’s steadfast professional and personal support during those very difficult and challenging moments. Her continued hard work and dedication—always going above and beyond—give me confidence that this project will reach a successful, beautiful conclusion. Elba claimed that getting someone’s style was her “superpower” and yet she didn’t listen when I clearly stated things that wre “must haves.” She didn’t take notes and consequently her designs failed to reflect my “must-haves . She was hired to help with an entry remodel, bathroom remodel and laundry room. She partnered with a construction company and sold the project as seamless with shared communication, portals, prioritized deadlines and input from the contractor regarding feasibility of proposed designs.. There was no portal or joint communication However, her biggest problem was the budget. She prepared a budget for the 3 components (entry, kitchen and laundry) which was significantly over what I wanted to spend. The budget included labor . I trusted Elba and the contractual commitments regarding high end design, materials and adhering to the budget. The first project was capped at $22k but the door and entry closet exceeded the total budget. I quickly learned Elba was not good at sourcing or creating designs that worked with the limits of the existing construction. (For example, she designed a door and side light that exceeded the useable space.) I had to double check everything and point out problems with her designs measurements before placing a custom order for a door and closet. It was very frustrating and felt very unprofessional. Despite contractual assurances regarding the budget, she made no mention that the first project was significantly over budget. I contacted the contractor independently (there was no communication portal). And he told me the labor would be an additional $12,000. Not only was that ridiculously high, it also resulted in the first component being over budget by almost 50 prevent. I told Elba I wanted to see the breakdown for the bathroom prior to any additional work. Turns out the budget in the contact was meaningless. She told me they could stay within the high end of the budget (close to $80k) provided I used materials from Home Depot and didn’t add the shower window, replace the existing window or get a pocket door. All 3 things were a priority and specifically stated in the budget we agreed to. At that point I realized the budget and commitment to stay within it was meaningless.. Despite selling her design skills as a package deal, there was no sense of collaboration whatsoever. I terminated our relationship. Elba offered no explanation, no apology and zero accountability for exceeding the budget, her lack of attention to important details etc. Instead, she asked for more money. I paid her almost $5000 (half of her fee) and not a single project was completed prior to termination. I.do not commend hiring Elba.
