Byggmeister has done construction at our home previously so when we decided to renovate a second floor bedroom and bathroom/laundry to be suitable for aging-in-place, they were an obvious choice. Their current team exceeded the level and quality of service we expected for this design/build project. Communication, scheduling, cooperation and workmanship were excellent from the beginning of the design phase in August 2023 until final completion of construction in July 2024. The design team gracefully managed the several iterations that we requested and answered the many questions, options, alternatives, and suggestions that we proposed. After the design was finalized in January 2024, budget meetings were held to define the lump sum cost and contract documents. Construction began in March highlighted by the continuous presence of Byggmeister personnel every day and close scheduling of subcontractors. Daily updates and weekly progress reviews kept us fully aware of what to expect next. This was especially important since we continued to live at home with access to our third floor sleeping area through the construction site. The placement of dust barriers and the daily cleaning routine was exceptional. Another benefit was Byggmeister’s willingness to work with us to incorporate owner-provided elements into the project and schedule. The overall experience of working with Byggmeister again to create the bedroom, bathroom and laundry that we can enjoy for many years to come was very satisfying. We recommend them highly to all of our friends and acquaintances who are considering construction or renovation.

From the initial meeting regarding our project until the last day of the work, we were impressed with Byggmeisrter. My husband and I had one project that we wanted to complete that was rather large in scope. We discussed what we wanted in the initial meeting, our budget, and hopefully our timeline. Rachel kindly steered us in another direction, one that made more sense for where we are in our lives. From there every step of the way was reviewed, discussed, and agreed to. Not one part of the project proceeded without complete agreement. Each team member we had contact with was professional and completely understood our project. Everyone we encountered was kind, nice, and professional. We found them all easy to work with and conscience of what it was we wanted. We live in a 100-year-old home and Byggmeister truly understood the historical elements of our home, we appreciated the fact that they are not a company that wants to take out the old and replace it with the new. The work is perfection due to the work ethic and professional ability of every person who touched the project. The worksite was clean and organized, the timeline was for the most part on time. Working with Byggmeister was an experience that I would do again if we had another project.

We came to Byggmeister with an old house that had never been updated. Through their assessment and design process we came to understand that part of renovating a house was also updating it to be as energy efficient as possible. I can't recommend the Byggmeister team highly enough. They taught us so much about our house and came up with a brilliant design to update it into what our family needed. Their process is very thorough and we knew exactly what we were budgeting for and were able to stay within our budget. From the project planners, to the architect, to the designer and then the construction crew- everyone worked as a team with us. I imagined our house would be a mess during the renovation, but I was amazed at how organized the team was and clean! Everyone on the project became extended members of our family! I give them our highest recommendation! I also loved the fact they stay in touch and want to make sure things are working out even after the project ends!

We worked with Byggmeister to do a home renovation and were thrilled with the whole process. They were tremendous communicators from design through the renovation. They are trustworthy and realistic with their suggestions, and their finished product is amazing. They never tried to upsell us and, in fact, made recommendations that saved us money because they were in the best interest of efficiency or sustainability. They we're extremely flexible and patient as there were times when we wanted to touch every product and times when we needed lots of help picking finishes. We really value that they are an employee owned company that is run by women. We highly recommend Byggmeister and plan to work with them again for an upcoming kitchen remodel.

We engaged Byggmeister to design and build our kitchen and remove two chimneys. Design phase: We had a very thorough design process with Byggmeister during which we iterated on general and specific architectural and design elements. Byggmeister brought great architectural and material ideas to those meetings, and they were extremely well planned. Throughout the design process, Byggmeister kept us appraised of construction costs, which informed our design decisions. Construction phase: Byggmeister did top notch construction work from major things like walls and windows to details like plaster and tiling. They obviously had good relationships with top quality subcontractors. They kept us informed of next steps and did their best to facilitate our quality of life (we remained in our house during the renovation). Results: The renovation turned out exactly as planned, which is to say we are very happy with the results. Guests complement the visual elements, but the visual elements are the tip of the iceberg. The framing, insulation, plumbing, electrical, layout (from a usability perspective), durability, and fit and finish are all factors that make it pleasure for me to give Byggmeister a 5 star rating.

It was a pleasure working with Byggmeister. I appreciated the thorough planning process while working with Paul and Rachel, as well as Bill's attention to detail when developing the layout. Rachel, and Bill. Cador was able to provide a very well-documented and accurate estimate of costs with appropriate revisions made with minor changes on my part in the scope of the project. Corky, the lead carpenter, was reliably communicative and flexible--for example, he was able to arrange work schedules to minimize disruption to our household, which includes two young children. The team was willing to address my innumerable questions in a timely fashion and use a few products that were new to them, as well as recommend an acoustical consultation to accommodate some of my concerns. Follow-up has also been excellent. We are exceedingly pleased with the end result, which looks fantastic (I hope to take and upload some pictures in the near future as the kids' school-year schedules wind down).

We’ve worked with Byggmeister on three separate occasions over several years, incorporating energy efficiency measures into a three-phased renovation of our circa 1900 home in Massachusetts. It’s been reassuring to know that we had a team of true professionals by our side as we tackled multiple challenges, including kitchen and basement work, a master bath renovation, and a Partial Deep Energy Retrofit of our roof in which we reshaped a dormer to accommodate solar panels. The Byggmeister team has been extremely knowledgeable and conscientious, receptive to homeowner participation, and excellent with follow-up.
