We selected the team at Master Edge Homes to renovate our basement. From start to finish the entire were professional and efficient. They guided us through the project from start to finish. We have been working with Master Edge Homes (MEH) for several months and in our experience they are focused on all the things that are key to a positive outcome in working with a design / build company. Everyone we’ve met has been helpful and focused on our needs and views regarding design. Our input and ideas have been welcomed and matched with their expert advice to arrive at decisions along the way. It is clear to us, even in the short time we’ve worked with MEH that there is a comradery and joy for the work that exists among their broader team that is reflected in their commitment to good work and client service. Dwayne and his team at Master Edge Homes recently completed an extensive renovation of our main floor and master bedroom ensuite. Our renovation looks amazing! The team at Master Edge Homes were really great to work with. They were all so professional and were very attentive to all our needs. Having completed the first half of our project, we could not be more pleased with Master Edge and their end to end renovation service. From Dwayne, the president, on down they communicate clearly and stand by their word; their work is outstanding and they deliver on time, on budget right to the end and beyond. It seems we all know someone who has had a reno that went south - either the contractor was dishonest, the work was subpar or incomplete, or it went way over budget. Not the case here at all. Despite being a local firm, we found Master Edge Homes on Houzz. From our first meeting with Dwayne we knew it was going to be a good fit. He is a class act and we’ve been so very pleased with our decision to hire them. ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS. Only good things to say about them. In short order, here’s how things worked out: PERMITS Our particular location has challenges in terms of obtaining approvals from our city’s heritage / historic committee and a regional conservation group. Dwayne, Nathan and the team were effective in navigating the lengthy and stringent permit process. Without their patience and persistence, we would not have received the necessary approvals. DESIGN It would be an understatement to say that my wife and I were quite involved with the design. Dwayne, Nathan and team were always very responsive in drawing out our ideas and coming up with good ideas of their own based on past projects. It was truly collaborative. They were incredibly patient with us - even when I would go back and forth on certain design elements and would adjust fine details. Thanks guys! BUILD Enter Jason, the project manager - an amazing PM. Jason ran the show like he was renovating his own house. He was invaluable to the project. We can’t say enough good things about him and the whole crew. First off, they’re all friendly, respectful and have the customer’s interests at heart. He’s knowledgeable on seemingly all aspects of construction and pays incredible attention to detail. There were multiple times when we were dumbfounded that he’d know a minor detail about something we’d expect only the relevant subtrade to know. He had the complete respect of the various trades (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc.) and he managed them very effectively. After seeing Jason almost every day for a year, it was a bit sad when the project finished up and he moved on to his next project. Also, just a quick note about the trades. They only work with subcontractors that uphold the same values and embody the same spirit that Master Edge Homes does. Never once did we have to deal with a subcontractor that was less than professional or not courteous and respectful. It was consistent through out. WARRANTY PHASE There have been a few minor things that they’ve come back to fix - some things we noticed but also some things they’ve noticed and addressed…and on their own dime. There is some additional work we’ve had them do and are planning to have them do; we have complete confidence it will be done well. BOTTOM LINE This review is a bit like telling everyone about your favourite restaurant; after your review, you’re afraid you won’t be able to get a table there anymore. Treat this review as the same. Great people; great workmanship. Two very happy customers.

Masters Edge Homes planned, executed and delivered a complete renovation of our second floor including the washrooms, hardwood flooring, lighting and the main staircase. They then painted both the first and second levels including the ceilings. The result is extremely pleasing. Their professionalism, attention to detail and prompt addressing of issues was appreciated. Their level of organization and genuine caring were the key differentiators. Master Edge Homes worked with us to make our vision a reality in remodeling our main floor 1970’s house. Not our first renovation project, we wish we had found Master Edge sooner and will not consider any other company for our future projects. I recently contracted with Dwayne Butler (owner of Master Edge Homes) to build a second storey to my bungalow. From the beginning he was enthusiastic and creative until the very last day of the contract. His employees did excellent design and work, and the end result, because of the professionalism and competence of the entire company, is that I now have a beautiful home on the inside and outside. We hired Master Edge Homes to do a renovation of our first floor, including a complete remake of our kitchen. The project involved the removal of two walls, including one load-bearing wall. Dwayne and his team were amazing! From start to finish they were professional, courteous and a pleasure to work with. Master Edge Homes has been working with us for 10 years. They have successfully completed many projects in our home. They finished our basement 10 years ago and it still looks like it was just completed. Dwayne Butler and his team are a pleasure to work with. Dwayne always takes the time to answer all our questions. Master Edge also replaced our carpet on the second floor with an Engineered Hardwood and installed Safe and Sound insulation in the floor cavity at the same time then replaced all baseboards, door and window trim. The latest project in May 2014 was a Kitchen renovation. We are so happy with the finished product. Functionality was the goal and we achieved it together.

We did a complete rebuild with Master Edge. The work went smoothly and the end product is superb. We challenged the contractor with difficult tiling layouts, stained wood trim and a very picky engineer client.
