It’s uncommon to come through an entire design/build process and not feel there are things you would choose to change or do differently if given the benefit of hindsight, but that’s exactly where we are. I can’t speak more highly of this team, both in terms of the quality of individuals, or their caliber of capability. Thoughtful, supportive, professional, and exceptionally competent: these are wonderful people, and they do wonderful work. At each point throughout our project we knew exactly where we stood from both progress and cost perspectives, and their projections held true to an extremely tight margin. No surprises. And the finished product is simply magnificent. For anyone and everyone reading this recommendation as part of their diligence, you won’t be disappointed. Our own project will involve a second phase in the near future, which means we’ll be back. Northcape is our partner.

Amazing job, especially when working with us on some of our ideas that were very stylized for our personal needs and putting forth out of the box thinking ways to achieve the goals of our build. We worked with NCD to reimagine a tired choppy house into a bright, open, and dramatic new space. The NCD team was a pleasure to work with along the way— they’re smart, trustworthy, experienced professionals who made our renovation as easy as possible. We relied on their sound judgment and knowledgable project management team/subs to create a dream vacation house for our family. As an added bonus, we made friends with this excellent team. We hired Northcape to build our dream lake home and it was the absolute right decision. Brett has assembled the perfect team for an exceptional client experience. Marcia was our designer who was with us from start to finish and her attention to detail was incredible. Northcape uses a 3 D design tool to help you visualize the details of your project as it’s being designed which was one of the reasons we chose them since we were living 5 hours away. This was a game changer for us. Nate was our project manager and even with the covid supply and labor shortage, he kept the process on schedule. We know he had to juggle a lot to make that happen and we really appreciate him. He also has the perfect temperament for his job and was such a pleasure to work with. Dave and Greg Smith were the contractors that Northcape hired for our construction and they are true craftsmen and magicians. Also thank you to Monique and Becca and the entire Northcape team. These are not builders who disappear after construction is complete. They truly care about their clients. We love our new house and couldn’t be happier.

We hired Northcape Design to remodel our second home in Newbury, NH. We were extremely happy with the overall experience with Northcape including their in house team, trade partners, quality of work, professionalism and responsiveness during our project. We worked with Northcape to design and then build our family retreat home on Lake Sunapee in Newbury, NH. The outcome was stellar and our new home is everything we had hoped for and more. The house looks, and more importantly, feels, exactly as we hoped it would. Northcape delivered our home on time despite the insanity of building during COVID and both the human and material resource constraints. Building on a sloped lot, on a lake is not small task, and there were a lot of real time changes we had to make to comply with codes and accommodate the lot. Northcape handled these challenges, smoothly and confidently. The project management was excellent, and working with Nate Nichols, the project manager, could not have gone better. Communication was excellent, and Nate made sure the integrated team of trade partners were flexible and responsive to our needs. The four stars vs. five stars, comes from some bumpy roads we hit transitioning from the design to the build stage. This happened during a period where there were substantial changes in personnel which was part of the challenge. We also had to work through differences in opinions on how some aspects of the financials of the project should be managed, but in the end we came to a good balanced approach and as stated above the outcome was amazing.

We hired Northcape for the design and build for an addition to our cottage on Lake Sunapee. We added a second floor with a master bedroom suite, loft, new siding, new roof, foundation work, stonework, and improved stormwater management. We were very happy with the planning, quality of the build and finished results. Brett and team were very professional and responsive to questions and change control. We enthusiastically recommend Northcape.

When we first bought our home, we knew going in it would require a substantial remodel. We saw the potential of the property, but also knew we could not take on this level of work ourselves and needed to partner with someone that could really bring that potential to life. When Brett first visited us and the home, and we talked about what we wanted to do and he explained everything that came with engaging with North Cape, the diverse management team, their processes and technology, and the skilled craftsman, we knew right away that we wanted to partner with them. It was an extensive project and it was important to us that it would not only be sound from an engineering perspective, but it would be quality work and the team involved would take the extra care that you yourself would apply if doing the job personally. The North Cape team delivered! They provided the visuals and details we needed to feel comfortable with our decisions, were highly attentive and responsive as questions came up along the way, flexible and adaptable when changes were required and they didn’t hesitate to provide guidance and support when we needed it. The speed of which they were able to complete the work and get us back into the property was incredible. The transformation of the home was beyond what we could have fully comprehended. It really made our house a home, and a place where our family can be fully comfortable and enjoy our time together, which is priceless to us. We highly recommend North Cape and would not hesitate to work with them again on a future project!

Northcape originally built our home about 7 or 8 years ago. Obviously they did a fantastic job, as we then asked them if they would do an addition for us. They are professional, very detail oriented, and treat your home as if it were their home. We live 4 hours away so they are on top of everything when it comes to communication! Northcape has an exceptional process Including daily pictures of the progression of the project, the time line of the project, and all the checks and balances. We highly recommend Northcape Design and their top notch Project Coordinator/General Contractor!
