Could not be more happy with my decision to go with Maillet Building and Renovations! We needed work done in our basement to manage the overall integrity of our home. We were nervous about the process and to be honest the overall cost of the project. However France and his team settled all of that anxiety on the first visit. They were timely, knowledgeable, efficient and professional. I would HIGHLY recommend Maillet Building and Reno for any home project.

Currently France is building a large addition for us and I can't say enough about his professionalism, communication skills, kindness and honesty. His attention to detail is unparalleled. Very strong work ethic. Framing is almost done and I can't wait to see the final product.

I hired Maillet Development to construct a 12x12 pergola and 30' mahogany deck. Although I had a look in mind, I needed France Maillet to envision the details that I was looking for in an original design. The results were above and beyond and his attention to the smallest details delivered a stunning and original gathering and entertainment area for my backyard. France and his crew completed the job on time, and within budget. Maillet Development is my go to contractor not only for myself but for all of my clients!

France remodeled our master bath which was a builder's special. He did a fabulous job under the very challenging conditions of last winter. He was always on time, attentive to every detail and obsessive about job quality. We have a lovely functional bath, and we are eternally in France's debt. France is a superlative professional.

France built an 8000 sq foot house for us in Weston, designed by an architect. The house is brick on the outside, with many interior upgrades--copper kitchen ceiling, wide plank cherry floors, antique marble and limestone fireplace mantles, and use of antique doors, pillars, etc. I would hire him again. I have recommended him to friends. His strong suit is quality and financial honesty. He does very good work and expects the same from very good subs. I did not like his mason and he agreed to switch him out to a very good one. His carpenters were great. The HVAC sub was only good, not great. The carpenters did a superb job on the all-mahogany study and its coffered mahogany ceiling. They put in historic, highly detailed mouldings and matched the corners and designs on the pilasters perfectly. The architect thought it could not be done and expected them to grind off the detail. He can look at an unfinished space and tell exactly what size molding would work best. I never met anyone who could judge sizes from a distance so accurately. ("That isn't 12 inches, it is a lot closer to 14"). I would of course challenge him with a tape measure and laugh that he was accurate. He would rip out work the architect did not like or that was imperfect. He is very good at working with an architect and respects the architect's guidance. We hired him in part because he was a lot cheaper than more established luxury builders. No regrets. He was always honest financially. Downsides? I have had another contractor who kept a much tighter schedule, but he cut so many corners I thought him a crook and wish France had done the job. Our 15 month project took closer to 18 months. Given its scale and intricacy, and some changes we made, I cannot complain. France is a builder, not a paperwork guy. He does not do updated budgets or schedules or like paper. He built us an elegant house. I m a perfectionist and can ride people hard. He met my standard. If you are seriously considering him, ask France for my email and I will confirm this review.

Maillet Development remodeled our master bath and created new walk-in closets as part of the new master suite. We've worked with a lot of contractors in remodeling two different homes, and it was a total pleasure to work with Maillet Development. Our house was literally cleaner at the end of each day than we left it in the morning - carpet hand vacuumed at the end of each night. (We have two small children- so this was a huge plus.) All of the work was so carefully detailed, exact and efficient. There were absolutely no problems, which for an antique house is truly amazing. There were no wasteful errors (we have become sort of accustomed to this in other projects with other contractors.) We were actually sad when the project was over because we really liked working with France- it was so easy. The space came out beautiful. He did our tile/natural stone in the large shower, built-ins next to the claw-foot tub, pocket doors, beautiful custom shelving in the closets. It really looks amazing, and it was so easy communicating with France, because he really listens to what you want and while he makes good suggestions, really tries to keep the project true to what you're looking for. Pricing was very fair and clear at all times. Work moved along on schedule. All the subcontractors were professional, skilled and timely. We really can't say enough and can't wait to use Maillet Development for our next project.

France Maillet was extremely knowledgeable about creating the perfect room for us and how to best utilize the space we had. The attention to detail was amazing and the finish work was exceptional. The room was even more beautiful than I could have imagined as little touches were added here and there thanks to France’s wonderful vision. The project was done on time and on budget – I would highly recommend Maillet Development to anyone looking for remodeling or building.

We fully renovated our house and added a large addition (screened in porch with a living space beneath) and hiring Maillet Development was the best decision we made during the whole process. France was just great to work with. Above everything, his communication skills and attention to detail are just top notch. Because we always knew what was going on with our house (from framing to finish) and what decisions we had coming up, the process moved along without any delays or hang-ups. One of the things that impressed us most is France’s eye for design. Our plans were pretty rudimentary and he really led the way in ironing out and customizing all of the small design details (of which there were about a million). Many times he would give us a number of options to consider, always with his own input and advice, but also always very respectful that the final decision was ours. Without his guidance on these details, we’re convinced that the finished addition would not have melded so perfectly with the existing house. There were also a few areas where we decided to spend a little more money than initially intended. In these instances, France proactively helped us figure out other places where we could cut back in order to maintain the original budget. We are 100 percent satisfied with the finished product and if we ever take on another project, Maillet will be the first and only phone call we make.
