It was a pleasure working with Candice and the result is that our new build looks amazing! She was very thoughtful when working with us, going above and beyond to help us figure out all the details that made a house into our home. We had no prior experience with the design process, and she took the time to explain the reasons for her suggestions and incorporate our feedback. Her efforts to coordinate all the details are greatly appreciated!

Candice was recommended by our painter to help us select paint colors for our new home. Calling her was the best decision we could have made. She provided paint color options for each room that couldn't be more perfect. She provided color options that I would not have considered otherwise and each room flows great into the next. Every room has the feel I was striving for and I would not have been able to accomplish this without her help. I LOVE the colors she chose and feel so happy in every room! She really chose the best colors for each space and definitely prevented me from making some major mistakes choosing the wrong colors. In addition, she has also provided other design ideas that will be helpful in pulling each room together. Candice has also provided us with resources and advice beyond the initial consultation meeting.

Candice was great to work with in creating a new modern glass backsplash in our kitchen that went well with our challenging granite color. The tile installer she recommended did a great job too. We look forward to working with Candice on other projects.

My experience wtih CMR Interiors was a great one and I plan to work with CMR again. Candice Mathers has a terrific eye and she made my home a beautiful reflection of my personality. I was worried a decorator would try and make my place look like a generic hotel room but what I got was far from it. Candice introduced me to ideas I never would have come up with on my own and respected my opinion and budget throughout the process. I highly recommend CMR and will not redecorate in the future without them!

Candice is wonderful! I was hesitant to pay someone to help me choose paint colors, not only because of the cost, but what if I didn't agree with their opinion? I am so glad I did. She chose my colors quickly, some of which I never would have done, and they turned out beautiful!

Selecting CMR Interiors & Design has been the singular best decision we made in settling in to our new home. I was worried about cost, but Candice Mathers (the owner of CMR) actually saved me money with her design choices and strong relationships with contractors who did everything from kitchen redesign to molding, window treatments, wallpaper and carpet install. Candice turned what seemed to be a large and overwhelming (at times) living space into a luxurious but homey, modern and useful living space for our family of 4. She also listened to us, taking into account our family heirlooms such as an old persian rug, or art done by a family member, and integrated her style with our own. She has an incredible eye for color and style, and even agreed to use curtains that we had from the previous owner and simply tailored them to fit more of our own style in rooms that were appropriate. She is generous with her time, operates with integrity, and will tell you where to spend money and where to conserve. We were very involved and enjoyed partnering with Candice each step of the way to make our house a home and she had a great vision of what the house should look like in terms of style and function. I am glad we found Candice when we did because I have no doubt that in the future it will be hard to get an appointment with her. I have compared her with other designers whose work I have seen and she is simply the BEST!

My husband and I decided to hire a decorator as a gift to ourselves for our 16-year wedding anniversary. Sixteen years and two kids into our marriage, we wanted a bedroom that felt like a peaceful, harmonious, and relaxing retreat from our busy lives as working parents. We chose Candice because of her excellent eye for color and her ability to create uncluttered spaces that feel personal and "homey." We had been in our house for a year and felt that it was finally time to update our 1980's bedroom. Hiring a decorator did not come naturally to us. We had a very limited budget, and we hired Candice for a consultation only. While it seemed reasonable to exchange a couple of hours of expert advice for what we would have paid for a nice dinner and childcare, it was still a bit of a leap to actually do it. Now that we have met with Candice and have started chipping away at our project, we can honestly say: IT WAS SO WORTH IT! If you are reading this and are contemplating whether or not a small project warrants a decorator, don't think twice about hiring Candice: just do it! Candice has a great personality. She is warm, sweet, and giving, and throughout the consultation she was down-to-earth, easy to talk with, and made great recommendations. Several weeks after our consultation, I happened to run into Candice in a design store, and she spent considerable unsolicited time with me reviewing the fabric choices from our initial consultation, and helping to insure that I made the best selections, down to the finest details, such as the color of the nail head trim on our headboard. Candice is never stingy with her time and attention and she always responds to her emails in a timely manner. She provided us with a ton of email and phone consultation after our initial meeting; so much so that we thought, "...my gosh...is she going to charge for this???" We weren't sure if these necessary and inevitable follow-up conversations would initiate a slow but steady descent into massive expenditures that we had not anticipated…but they did not! Since we’ve begun working with Candice, she has kept us in mind as she has come across things that might be of interest to us. Candice has demonstrated a genuine interest in helping us to create a space that we truly love, and she has never treated us like “lesser” clients because our project is small. What a great relief it has been to know that Candice is in it with us for the long haul! Despite the fact that we have been completing our project one component at-a-time and are doing our own project management, we do not feel alone because Candice is always available by email and never hesitates to answer our questions. While we only met with Candice once, she is a household name! We already have plans to consult with her again on other projects, and even my husband -- who was initially skeptical of what a decorator could offer us – now says, “let’s run this by Candice….” when we consider how to approach fother changes we want to make in our home. Her consultation has been absolutely invaluable, and the headboard and chandelier she recommended have already transformed our bedroom; they're AMAZING!!! We can't wait to realize the rest of her recommendations, and how on earth she managed to identify child-friendly selections that appeal to the two very different personalities of myself and my husband is beyond me. Not only is Candice not "that kind of" (snooty!) designer: she is a real person; very dedicated; and quite talented at what she does.

We hired CMR to help with the design/remodeling of our condo in the city, & couldn't be happier with Candice! During the initial consultation, she did a walk through of our entire condo and provided some great design suggestions- exactly what I was looking for. She had great followup and stayed tuned in to our project all the way till the end, with excellent contractor referrals for electrical, carpentry & painting. Candice is worth every penny, and now that my project is over, I'll say she should probably be charging much more than she is considering the quality she provides!

My experience with CMR was fantastic. The end result is a flawless, tasteful, elegant and comfortable update to our home. Candice has a detailed knack for project management and organization; her stellar good taste is a steadying beacon in what might otherwise be an overwhelming process. Deadlines were met to the best of her ability, budget was always kept in mind and bringing out my own personal style in the home decor was brilliantly achieved. I found Candace while viewing pictures of master bedroom designs on Houzz. My husband and I are in the midst of trying to redesign several areas of our home and I was feeling overwhelmed with the process and looking for inspiration. I worked with a couple designers years ago and was a little skeptical about what I would get for my investment but I was drawn to Candace’s style and the prospect that I could get some targeted, brief consultation services. After reaching out to Candace, she responded right away and we scheduled some time for her to come and take a look at my place. What a pleasant experience! From the moment she crossed the threshold, Candace was brimming with ideas about cost-effective ways to enhance our design. I appreciated that she was practical and down to earth but also clearly has the ability to see the possibilities in a space and help you maximize the design potential of your surroundings. One of the things that I appreciated most about Candace was her generosity with sharing her resources. My previous designers, were very reluctant to share resources and information, maybe for fear that they would be cut out of the process. Candace was just the opposite. I never got the sense that she was trying to position herself for continued work by not sharing information. Instead, she shared information about other quality professionals who could perform some of the work that I needed and helped me identify places in the Chicago where I could find the type of flooring and window treatments that I was looking for. She truly empowers her clients and is more than willing to be involved as much or as little as you need. I appreciated not only her sense of style, but also her integrity. I’m a very visual person. Candace picked up on this right away and asked one of her former clients if I could take a look at his flooring, which was similar to the one that I was considering. After viewing his space, my appreciation for Candace (which was already considerably high), increased even more! His space was gorgeous!! Sophisticated, peaceful, clean lines. Absolutely stunning! Following that visit, Candace on her own time, continued to identify resources in our community that would work for me. She found the tiles I was looking for. Described my situation to the sales person and connected me directly to them. All on her own time! I cannot recommend her highly enough. Don’t hesitate. Call Candace to support your design efforts. Both my wife and I work in the medical field and we want our home to be finished and welcoming when we come home. We would visit design stores and end up frustrated, arguing, and not confident in our choices. We also wasted money trying DIY decorating. Like our backsplash which we are ripping out soon. I liked CMR Interiors & Design Consultations profile on Houzz. I understood what Candice said about the "envelope" of the home needing to be worked on first and agreed. Candice came into the space for a consultation and gave us clarity on how to fix our family room and every room of the house. We've started implementing her plans by hiring a millwork guy to put in our living room paneling that she had designed. We also ordered lighting she picked out, wool carpeting and the right backsplash tile for our countertop and kitchen cabinetry. I recommend hiring Candice for a consultation before you spend money on your home. We feel she makes smart decisions with our money. We are making thoughtful progress and look forward to working with Candice on future rooms.

I found Candice online, liked her ideas form our initial consultation, and have enjoyed working with her ever since. She has done a wonderful job of redesigning my Lincoln Park loft with exposed brick, cedar beam ceilings, and terribly outdated stairs, bathrooms, bedrooms, floorings, and window treatments. Candice has done a phenomenal job of understanding my tastes and of recommending changes, managing the change in process, and providing the nice final touches to finish off my various spaces. She is a perfectionist, demands a job well done, and is a fantastic project manager. I highly recommend Candice.
