Criterion Plumbers

I called Criterion about a floor drain backing up and Jason dispatched Jesus to my home. When he arrived we discussed snaking a pipe and sending a camera down the sewer main to check for potential problems. During the camera process Jesus somehow got the camera stuck and twisted back on itself, when he realizes the problem he became frustrated and started pulling on the cable with excessive force. After multiple attempts at pulling and falling over once he finally pulls hard enough to break the cable away from the camera leaving it lodged in the main. Jesus informs me that this is a problem and the camera unit is expensive, he will need to retrieve it by going through my basement floor. I tell him that won't happen and he needs to find another solution to the problem....the then tells me I'm liable. I laugh and asked how is that possible and he responds with it's in the acceptance of service. I honestly don't understand how a company can hold a customer liable for the obvious mistake of their employee. So after much discussion I'm pressed into digging up the main and luckily it's in my yard not the house. Jesus bails for church leaving Chris with a mess and problems to solve. The next day the mini excavator shows up at 10 and Chris arrives at 11 to start discussing the plan. Chris gives me an estimate of 3500-5100 for all services, I respond with that's ridiculous and again question why I'm on the hook for Jesus's screw up. Again I get the homeowner is liable. After it's all done and I get the services I actually asked for in the beginning and Chris gets the camera back I'm presented with a bill for 3700. 2200 for the mini and 1500 for the job Chris did. Throughout all this Chris did do his best to make me happy with some freebies but I refused, I just wanted them to fix the problems and go away. No amount of freebies will fix the money I'm out and now the repair to my lawn. I find it very unethical and scummy that the company wouldn't take responsibility for Jesus being the problem in all this. I hope this review helps others who might be looking at Criterion to stay away and find a more reputable company to spend your money with.
