Cuono Engineering is a structural engineering firm dedicated to the art and science of structural design and restoration. The firm consists of a dedicated staff of structural engineers with experience in the design and rehabilitation of both new and existing historic buildings in the greater NY metropolitan area. Our experiences are focused on structural engineering and varied in terms of building types and materials. Our commitment to delivering technical excellence to our clients is absolute. We have worked on new buildings, restorations of historic buildings, renovations of existing buildings, and specialty projects such as art installation support structures, specialized steel connection design and shoring. Our experiences have included design of prefabricated commercial projects and sustainable methods such as structural insulated panels and design work on LEED projects. The greater NY area has a large building stock and this has afforded us opportunities to work and study historic structures from 19th century timber barns to turn of the century schools with architectural glazed terra cotta, to Roebling floor systems and many other varied archaic structural systems. Engineers are trained as problem solvers and so our goal is to solve the engineering problems of our clients and provide a high level of professional service. We meet this goal through open communication, professionalism, and hard work. In this way we have succeeded in developing long term relationships with our clients, which include among others, homeowners, architects, developers, contractors, and the public sector.
