I hired Joe Cloren of Anything Tile to completely retile my bathroom floor and new shower. We engaged in productive and enlightening discussions about tile designs, materials and colors, viewed photos together and compared ideas. Joe offered valuable artistic insight and advice and worked with my personal preferences to create a bathroom with which I'm completely delighted. His quality and detailed workmanship, from the subfloor to border tile, was thorough and meticulous.. Prior to beginning work, Joe provided an estimate for the labor and materials which reflected the final cost, exactly.

You don’t need to look any further for an outstanding craftsman to do your tile work. Joe arrived to give the estimate for the job when he said he would and then provided a clearly written itemized estimate which was well below his local competitors. He started work promptly at the time agreed upon and included us in every step of the process. He discussed the proposed layout with us in detail. Not only did he review the different types of grout available but also went over the pros and cons of specific colors. He even asked if we wanted to have specific tiles in certain parts of the room. He is personable, considerate and was very willing to do all that he could to accommodate our needs. His work was flawless and we are thoroughly satisfied with the job he did. It was a pleasure working with Joe from start to finish and I would most certainly call him again if I needed any tile work to be done. He has my unconditional recommendation.

If you are looking for the highest quality installation of tile, then I highly recommend Joe Cloren of Anything Tile. We have a 100 year old Craftsman home in Alameda and wanted to make sure we kept the character of our home intact. We picked a marble subway tile from Import Tile in Berkeley for the shower surround and a complimentary marble basket weave for the floor. Joe is a true craftsman and really took his time to make sure that the shower was waterproofed properly and all the structures were sound. He uses the tried and true methods of years gone by and definitely had some challenges in the not so square or plumb bathroom. Throughout the project he was very concerned with the design and always asked our opinion before proceeding. He had some great ideas that really make the shower stand out. This is something that now could easily grace the pages of Architectural Digest now. So, it you are looking for the highest quality in a tile installation, give Joe a call. If you are looking for a fast and cheap installation, don't waste his time.

We have used Anything Tile for 2 separate projects, We have an old house with a lot of molding and architectural detail. Remodeling can be a challenge, but not when you work with Joe Cloren and Anything Tile. Joe is a true craftsman and his work is impeccable. He is an artist, loves tiling, and takes pride in his work and you can definitely see it in the finished project. He provided suggestions of different design ideas, but wasn't pushy about them at all. He is really easy going, friendly, and easy to work with. He is honest and trustworthy. His prices were fair. He communicates well and keeps you updated on the progress of the job. I highly recommend him. You won’t be disappointed.

Working with Joe could not have been any better. Joe did two bathrooms including the master bath and the kitchen floor. The quality of the work that Joe does is incredible. The workmanship is better then I have ever seen before. Working with Joe was a really good experience. He helped direct us to decisions that were far better then we had dreamed of. He would meet us at the tile shop and help us pick material then he would come to the house and work with us on how to best integrate the tiles (patterns, size, color, etc.). Joe worked very well with the hardwood floor crew so that the kitchen floor integrated into the dining room and family room perfectly. As the master bathroom started to come together all we could say was wow. Now with the work done it feels like being at a spa.
