I ordered flooring from Fabrique and was told the product was on back order. I was told it would ship when the manufacturer received it but the date at which it was then supposed to ship came and went with no update. I asked repeatedly for the tracking information and proof of shipment and was told the product was shipping...had shipped...was shipping...but no one could provide any proof. In the meantime, I was juggling a busy construction schedule of many subcontractors with a large part of our home being done with this flooring.
After receiving inaccurate information and then no communication at all, I contacted the manufacturer directly. I was then informed that my order had been deleted due to Fabrique being on a credit hold. My order had not shipped and was not going to ship until it was resolved. Further, the shipping address Fabrique had provided was the billing address in FL. The product would have gone to the wrong state had it shipped as it was needed in CT...not even close!
They eventually resolved the payment issue but by then the product was out of stock again and I had to wait another full week for a new shipment to arrive. During this time, Fabrique actually told me again that my product was shipping that day, not aware of the fact that I already knew the true story from the manufacturer and that there was no product to ship.
At this point Fabrique stopped answering their phone or responding to email. I spent countless hours on the phone with the manufacturer having my order reinstated, correcting the billing address, and then tracking the progress of the eventual shipment.
When the order finally shipped, Fabrique provided a tracking number which showed a delivery date of a Tuesday. I scheduled my installer for Wednesday accordingly. I then received a call from Fed Ex on the Tuesday I was expecting delivery letting me know the tracking number was for shipment to their warehouse, not to my home, and that I should have been told there was an additional day not reflected in the tracking number. My husband then had to drive more than an hour to the FedEx facility to hand load and unload our materials to meet the schedule of the installer.
This had a very significant time and cost impact to our project. The out of pocket for the extra labor to work around the delays and last minute rush to get the job done was significant. I asked Fabrique repeatedly how they were going to compensate me for their poor business practices and was told they understood and agreed and would definitely do something for me. Despite the significant cost and immense amount of time wasted dealing with this company, they provided me a $100 credit for the shipping inconvenience and continued to try to blame other people for their incompetence and downright shady practices.
While this project was our personal home, my husband and I both work in the building industry and are well versed in the complications that can arise during construction. We have a higher tolerance than most but the way in which Fabrique conducted themselves was far beyond any level of acceptable behavior. They repeatedly lied, stopped communicating, and did nothing to rectify the situation. I would not recommend them for any projects moving forward.
