Design Core LLC

With over twenty years experience in the furniture industry, Design Core LLC’s owner Jason Matthews knows exactly what it takes to create a new furniture piece or re-upholster an existing one. Jason’s experience began as an upholsterer on a production line for a well known home furnishings manufacturer in the Midwest. He worked his way into quality assurance supervision where he learned how to troubleshoot and repair or replace damaged or faulty components. He later accepted the role of quality lab technician where he aided in the design of various furniture and component testing equipment and took many tours to the facilities where furniture components are manufactured. It wasn’t long after, that he was invited to join the company’s furniture design team where he created many new furniture concepts that went into production. Filled with desire to accomplish more, he eventually accepted a position with a smaller company and played a role in constructing furniture that went in to several top U.S. government facilities. During this time, his love of country and his desire to serve inspired him to join the service at the age of 36. He joined the US Army National Guard as an Infantryman and was soon accepted as a recon scout. He eventually re-located to Southwest Florida and took a military transfer to the Florida Army National Guard and started his civilian career by upholstering boat and watercraft cushions and interiors and patterning boat covers and Bimini tops. Now a veteran and a non-commissioned officer, Jason decided not to re-enlist further in the military and instead, take the advice of many clients and interior designers, to start his own business doing what he loves. “I believe my attention to detail and eye for quality will always be to mine and my clients advantage. I do have a creative mind and that shows in some of my work but I never mind just re-upholstering something either because I may see something new that I haven’t seen before and I get a thrill out of recovering that piece better than original”. -Jason Matthews
