I love craftsmen style houses. With that said research the original colors that were in that house or just that style in general. Take those colors and do a 1/2 shade if they are to dark for your taste.

I like yellow, the outside is actually a pretty soft yellow but this is pretty strong. The kitchen has grown on me - inside the cabinets is painted a dark red and looks nice - and there is not too much yellow in that room due to cabinets and counters. We're pretty eclectic but like I said this is a strong shade. Here are another two views.--thanks for the comments!

I like yellow, too, for this style and layout. But take a look at these rooms, all one color. The Architect says the colors are BM 10 & 11. Must mean wall/ceiling.


I don't know if you have this typical fireplace or not, but you could always do a accent color as in this picture. Like the red in your cabs.

I personally do not care for the color. I would do some research on style appropriate colors for the wall and then cut that color at least to 50% for the ceiling. Your space just seems to be a bit too much.

I like when rooms flow with the paint chip deck colors choose your colors and go one darker in each room. All off the same strip go with the lightest on all the ceilings for a tie in.
