How did you protect the framed fabric from the bed?

I just love this! How did you protect the framed fabric? Is it just pillows or something else above the level of the mattress? Likewise, did the bed frame hit the wall below the frame?

We sprayed the fabric with a stain protectant, but if you were to sit in bed leaning against it, you would have a pillow behind you. The frame is pushed to the wall.

Thanks for answering so quickly! One more question: Was the fabric stretched over some sort of board (and cotton batting), which was then mounted to the wall?

My workroom applied the cotton batting directly on the wall inside the frame that was already attached directly on the wall and then they applied the fabric that was cut and sewn to the measured dimensions.
