On this project, we installed: Hardscapes and Plantings - We tried to bring a bit more formal setting to the landscape and some interesting hardscapes with faux grass, crushed granite gravel, lined with emerald greens, pear trees, ilex hedging and a few topiary plantings.

This is an example of a farmhouse landscaping in New Orleans.

A mix of privet and ilex holly offers a twist on the typical LA-ficus hedgerow. By using more than one plant species, we garner some of the protective qualities biodiversity as well as charming variations in texture and color. California native Catalina Cherry, Lemonade Berry, and Oregon Grape are also great hedge and privacy screen options.

BEFORE: The vegetation in the side yard made it impassable. We had it removed, along with the smaller of the Ilex hedges to open up the area.
