What is used between the countertop and the mirror backsplash to join them?
of the mirror -- I'm concerned about how they "meet up."
The mirror goes right down to the countertop and is attached to the wall behind it. There is nothing between them except a small silver colored metal frame piece along the edge of the mirror. You can see it better if you zoom in here : http://www

The mirrored backsplash in this kitchen is simple, straightforward and stylish. A standard mirror has been applied along the countertop all the way to the bottom of the upper cabinets. Mirrored electrical outlet covers add a final touch for a cohesive look.

with the backsplash. It's so shimmery and pretty, especially with the white and the windows.
Mirrors with an aged patina work well if you prefer a softer effect.
Here's another take on the backsplash idea. The stainless-steel range hood doesn't stop the eye at the mirrored focal point.
Antique. Mirror can be treated and aged to look antique, for a unique kitchen accent. Here the aged mirror backsplash has a darker hue and a worn finish.

idea for backsplash. Would you mind telling how you got the back of the mirrors to have that "rustic" look to them?
has anyone done larger pieces of this type of mirror? What size are these?
seen some mirrors on this site and elsewhere that have more of a bronze warm colored backing than silver; perhaps a mirror shop could coordinate more for you, if there isn't a readily available product (and there may be).

instead of mirrors would contribute to a more traditional feel.
Mirrors work wonders as a backsplash for two reasons: one, they're easy to wipe down after a cooking mishap (remember what I said about that Windex?), and two, you can discretely check if there's anything in your teeth whilst entertaining
