Jim did an excellent job on our kitchen island. He came out to the house, took the time to discuss the design we were looking for and provided drawings for us to review and approve before starting construction. He kept us informed on progress and completed work sooner than expected. We would definitely recommend Jim for any projects!

Jim is the best! I got in line and waited a couple of months after which he contacted me and started my cabinets as promised. It took him a few weeks to build and install the painted, completed cabinets. The finished area was caulked and painted in a turn key fashion. They cabinets looked original to the house. I couldn't be more pleased. Jim is an artist with attention to detail. He's professional, honest and just a nice person.

I was in need of some trim work on an existing cabinet so my new refrigerator and freezer would fit and I choose Cabinet Gems. I could not have got a better person to do the job! The job wasn't a large one but it was a job that needed precise cutting so that my new refrigerator and freezer would fit. I wanted a professional that could do the job and I found him! I was so impressed with Jim. He would measure, then remeasure again before any cutting was done so everything would turn out correct. He did a wonderful job; could not have asked for any better. This is the second time I have used Cabinet Gems for cabinetry work. The first time he built all my kitchen cabinets and offered some suggestions that gave me more countertop space. Cabinets were fantastic. Recently we needed some bathroom vanities built and didn't think twice about using Cabinet Gems again. Vanities were exactly what we wanted and we couldn't have been happier. The custom cabinets made for our kitchen were well built and beautiful! We could not be more pleased! He spent so much time making sure the measurements were right down to every last detail. Jim Scroggin is an artist with wood. We recently replaced a kitchen island, kitchen cabinet doors, and bathroom doors. Previous doors were made of MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) which started to wear and swell when exposed to water. On his first visit, in my home, Jim brought sample raised panel doors that he had made from scratch. The craftsmanship was excellent. He was to match our lower cabinet doors to our upper cabinet doors and completely rebuild the kitchen island. Perfect match! Jim is a professional who takes pride in his work and is very much a detail person. The adage of "measure twice cut once" only half fits Jim. He sometimes measured three or four times and then cut once; perfect every time. I used a professional painter who does high end work. He was very much impressed with Jim's work. He commented that he had never received cabinet doors for painting that were sanded and finished so well. It was a pleasure dealing with Jim. His price was reasonable and in line with what I had paid previously for cabinet doors in a condo. If you want the best job, Jim Scroggin of Cabinet Gems is your man. P.S. Never use MDF !!!

I highly recommend Cabinet Gems for any cabinet or carpentry work. Jim is very professional and thorough. I hired several companies to work on two bathroom remodels and a kitchen remodel, and this one stands out. He is a perfectionist and completes the work on time as promised, as opposed to many other contractors. I will certainly hire this company again and recommend them to anyone needing cabinet work. He was not the cheapest contractor I received an estimate from but you definitely get what you pay for and his work was well worth it.

I have known Jim Scroggins for several years through projects he has done for my family and friends. He recently completed kitchen & bathroom cabinets for me. I have never seen a professional craftsman who was more of a perfectionist in his trade than Jim. I first met him over 15 years ago when he built the most exquisite cabinetry I have ever seen in a friend’s late 1800’s Victorian house renovation. Then, over the years, my daughter has had him build at least 4 or 5 projects for her. Every project has been top quality. They not only look beautiful, but they also operate perfectly. I highly recommend Jim for any type of furniture or cabinetry if you want quality workmanship.
