We moved to Carlsbad, CA despite knowing anyone, including contractors. We purchased a home that “spoke to me” although it needed extensive renovations. Our realtor recommended Eric Stephens from ECS Construction and we couldn’t have made a better choice. Not only is Eric an excellent general contractor, he’s an amazing person with incredible talent. He is knowledgeable , has a great eye and is extremely creative. Eric is also a great listener and problem solver and we always felt we were working as a team. He has great relationships and is well respected and liked in the construction community - workers, showroom teams and inspectors alike. Eric took my little house and transformed it into our newly updated forever home. It’s more stunning than we could have dreamed of. Highly, highly recommend ECS Construction and Eric Stephens! We have now used Eric and his team for two different remodels of the same home (2020, 2022). The remodels have involved new floors, multiple bathrooms (to the studs), kitchen counters, lighting, and painting upgrades. And we couldn't be happier with the workmanship, the communication, and the overall value. Eric has helped to make our home into our "forever home"!

I hired ECS Construction to do a remodel of my master bedroom and bath along with an assortment of other projects on my older (1960) home. This included all new plumbing and sewer, upgraded electrical panel, tankless recycling water heater, regraded driveway, new front planter with lighting, new flooring throughout the entire house, retiled the entry, addition of a hallway, and new master bathroom with large walk in shower, walk in closet, vanities, lighting and solatubes. Everything turned out great! Eric and his crew worked on my home for over a year and they were always professional, courteous and helpful. Eric is very knowledgable and is a good problem solver. I felt like he always had my back and always did what was right for me. I am very happy with the work that was done and would hire ECS Construction again.

Eric has worked on bathroom and kitchen remodels for us. He is polite and is always on time. He lets you know who and when his subs will be there. He always checks on them. He cleans up when he is done and does all the detail work himself. I would highly recommend him.

It went great! Eric was very thorough with the scope walkthrough, estimate and work throughout the project. We had a tight timeframe to work with and ECS made it work. Always responsive and great workmanship by all involved. We had just bought a 2 bed/2 bath home and wanted the whole inside updated prior to move in. The ECS quote wasn't the cheapest but was by far the most conscientious and professional and left us feeling confident in selecting Eric and ECS. We are really happy with the results and would definitely recommend them!

We hired ECS construction for a complete home remodel, interior and exterior. The project took 8 months to complete, and It is absolutely Amazing!!! Eric is a true professional! He was consistently concerned about details and that the work was done the right way. He always patient and cheerful and very easy to work with. We could not have hired a better contractor.

I have had the pleasure of working with Eric Stephens and ECS construction on many occasions over the last eight years. ECS Construction has been the contractor on several projects where I have been the architect. Recently, we hired Eric to substantially remodel and expand our personal residence. We had purchased a 4500 square foot home in San Diego’s North County that required significant remodeling. However, we were living in Boston and were hoping to have the home remodeling done before our West Coast move in about a month. Then we met Eric, who was referred by our trusted realtor. Not only was Eric a terrific cross-country communicator, but he brought an exceptional level of detail-orientation and workmanship to the project. Bottom line, we absolutely LOVE the work that he and his team completed, and we are now living in our dream home. For more detail, we had Eric help us with: painting all interior walls; installing wood flooring; a complete master bathroom remodel; new exterior fencing, garden gates, and balcony railing; repainting all kitchen cabinets, media cabinet, and upstairs vanities; installation of a new furnace and Nests; interior and exterior electrical updates, plus fixture installations; and assembly and installation of wall-to-wall bookcases.

I have an L.A. based design firm and have worked with ECS on several projects. Eric has strong communication and client relation skills. He is upfront and honest, and most importantly transparent in how he approached projects. He makes my life easier not being on-site as often because he asks great questions and offers a lot of experience and insight. I look forward to working with him again in the future.
