We closed on an acre and a half in Northern Ca last summer. First order of business was to spray for sudden oak death (SOD). Next we plotted all major and minor trees- lots of California and tan oaks and bay laurels, using an arborist. With his recommendations and county approval (Marin county) we had a tree company remove diseased and unhealthy trees. Then we were able to look at the site to locate the footprint of the house. Might I add that I never knew that there are biologists required to look for spotted owl nests and different biologists to look at night, with infrared binocs, for bat nests. Phew. Our future house feels like a distant future... Tell me it's worth it!

The shutters are Charleston green (9 parts black, 2 parts yellow) and I am not sure what color the siding is.
