We had the first job with Jay Quinones Contracting when he and his Team converted our garage into a family room, which was spectacular. 28 years later, we had our bathroom renovated, and it was reasonably priced, and came out better than anticipated. Jay and his crew showed up on time, and always cleaned up after each day. Jay Quin Contracting is first rate. Two different companies could not do what Jay Quin was able to do. And it was just days before the Thanksgiving holiday. There is no one who can or would do that. All for a family of 7 to have a new washer and dryer installed. Jay Quin Contracting disconnected the top cabinet, shifted it over to the left and reinstalled it and disconnected the countertop and disconnected the bottom cabinet. They removed the base moldings from the cabinet and kick plate and shifted the bottom cabinet over to the left. Reinstalled the countertop and the kickplate. Base moldings had yo be cut to make them fit. They disconnected and removed the old washer and dryer. The top ledge on the landing and outside door was removed in order to get the units in and out of the house. A wall was cut and they removed the sheet rock so that the units could be removed from the basement and the new ones brought down. The new washer and dryer were brought down into the basement and install. The wall that had to get removed was reinstalled and it was compounded. The outside door and the shelf were reinstalled.

OUTSTANDING! Had a creaky bedroom floor with old carpeting. Jay gave me a fair estimate for the repair of the subfloor and installation of the new floor. He gave me an itemized contract of everything he would do, and carefully explained every part of of the job, and patiently answered all my questions (and I asked a lot of questions). And unlike other contractors I've dealt with, Jay actually did everything he said he would do. No more creaks and a beautiful new floor. An old school professional. I will be hiring him again.

Jay has done several Renos and projects for us over the past 20 years. Recently we called Jay again to Reno 2 bathrooms because we know Jay is very dependable. Our full bath was transformed into a beautiful oasis. While the half bath was transformed into an elegant and charming Powder room. Jay arrived every day on time until the job was done. We hired Jay-Quinones Contracting to do a complete renovation of our kitchen. Jay did a wonderful job. He did the demolition down to the studs, updated the electrical wiring and plumbing, put up and painted the sheetrock, and installed the cabinets, flooring, lighting, backsplash and appliances. He also connected us with a great fabricator for the countertop. Jay was a tremendous help getting us alternate supplies quickly when we discovered an unexpected problem with the floor tiles we had purchased – which kept our renovation on schedule. Throughout the process, Jay made sure to keep in touch with us via calls, texts and emails. And he always arrived on schedule. We hired Jay-Quin Contracting to completely renovate our bathroom. They were recommended by a couple of people we knew and had good on-line reviews. We met with Jay and he gave us an estimate for the work to be done. Due to COVID, our renovation was pushed back but the supply chain was slow so by the time we were ready to go, we had our items lined up. Jay was very patient and has a very even and easy going personality which I found comforting. He listened to both my husband and I, he heard what we envisioned and also made suggestions. Our home is almost 100 years old and although the bathroom had been renovated about 30 years ago, we were still nervous about what would be uncovered. Luckily, everything was good and the installation of walls, tiles and floors went off without a hitch. There were minor, post-renovation issues and Jay was eager to make the changes necessary to make us happy. I normally don’t review a contractor cause it’s their job. I’m going to take exception this time cause not did Jay take his time, act like a total professional but he treated me like a friend. Everything that he said he was going to do, he did and more. I feel lucky to have met Jay- Construction and it’s CEO Jay cause for ANY future work I’ll have done it’s only one phone call. Jay was very professional , he took on a job rebuilding my bathroom shower. He went over everything he was going to do. And my project was finished when he said right on time every morning his partner Scott was very nice. My shower is beautiful the tiles and fixtures look great. I highly recommend Jay Quinn.

After surveying the damage our last tenant left behind in the rental apartment of our home, my family and I decided enough was enough. We made the decision to stop renting and utilize the extra space for ourselves. We also made the decision to invest in a proper remodel to not only enjoy for our use but also add value to our home in the event of future resale. I called five contractors to schedule appointments for estimates for the bathroom renovation. One never showed up for the appointment and one called 5 minutes before our scheduled time to cancel. Of the three contractors who actually made it through my front door, Jay was the only one, by far, who appeared trustworthy. He conducted himself in a professional manner, listened intently to my questions, ideas and concerns and communicated the scope of the work to be completed in detail. He emailed a written proposal that evening, again in explicit detail of the work to be performed, along with a breakdown of costs and the payment schedule we had agreed on. I told Jay the job was his and we scheduled the renovation for the following week. Jay delivered my renovation exactly as proposed. As I wanted to select my own fixtures and finishes, his input and expertise was extremely helpful in getting everything right the first time. One or two unforeseen issues did come up (it’s a 100 year old house) but he advised me pragmatically and didn’t let it affect our timeline. The renovation was started and finished on time, on budget and most importantly to me, Jay did a really great job of keeping the impact of “renovation mess” to a minimum.. It was truly a pleasure working with him and I will seek his services again when I am in need. *Jay completed this renovation for me 7 years ago. His work has well withstood the test of time and everyday use. So, what prompted me to re-submit this review after 7 years? The lever on my toilet tank broke last week and needed to be replaced. I wasn’t sure if I could do it myself or for that matter even try. I called Jay and he immediately remembered who I was, where I lived and the remodel he did for me. I told him what I needed and he said he would be at my house the next day. True to his word, he came and replaced the lever for me and would not even charge me for his time. I don’t know if there are any other contractors out there who would show up after 7 years for such a minor job like I needed, but Jay did. So in addition to being an experienced and trustworthy contractor who delivered a quality renovation, he is also a good and decent person!

Jay replaced the ceiling in our 1860's Victorian. He took down a plaster and lath ceiling and replaced it with sheet rock. He was quick to respond when we first called for an estimate and then scheduled and did the job with great dispatch. I started a basement renovation in July 2018 and to make a long story short, I had a cabinet install gone wrong. Being somewhat skeptical and jaded as I have only had bad experiences with contractors, I did some research here on Houzz and this was how I found Jay. From the moment that I spoke to and met Jay, who I might add is very pleasant and personable, I felt at ease and was confident that he could rectify the situation in my basement. Even though I had met someone else that had a cheaper price, I decided to hire Jay because of his demeanor and experience and so I had him rehang the cabinets, add an outlet and install a backsplash. Jay started the job when he said he would and he was very hands on. He did not leave his workers at my house and then come back when the job was done to get paid. He does the work along with his crew and they clean up their mess. I also like that Jay gives recommendations and lets you know what he is doing every step of the way and speaks up if he thinks something isn't going to look good. For example, he didn't think that I got the right color grout for my backsplash and advised me to get something darker which I did. My basement turned out great and now the bar area looks so much better thanks to Jay and his staff. I am so glad that I found Jay because I have some more projects that I want to do in my home and will call him again to do some more work in my home.

He came to my house and went over the job with me, wasn’t in a rush like most contractors, and he gave me some ideas and opinions. I hired him to do the work. He and his crew did a professional job and followed through on everything he said they would do and more. My advice to anyone looking for the job to be done right would be to save yourself the trouble of having to call Jay to fix someone else’s work and hire him the first time.

I cannot emphasize enough to anyone reading this that the search for your professional dream contractor ends right here. Jay Quin and his team, Scott and Mike, were professional, reliable and hardworking folks who took care of everything as if they were working in their own homes. The job ran smoothly from start to finish and I was especially grateful at the care they took of cleaning up after themselves each evening. It made living under construction highly doable. We live in former coffee, tea and sugar warehouses and had a complete gut and transformation of the bathroom that was from the original conversion of the raw space in 1982. Jay installed a custom shower with natural stone tile and chair rails that kept the traditional look that we were looking for. He is a true craftsman whose attention to detail you won’t find anywhere else. In addition, Jay took the space located in our half bath that would be reserved for a tub and transformed it in to a fully functional “laundry center” with washer/dryer, cabinets and countertop for folding/ironing. I just had my kitchen remodeled. My home is 90 years old so the kitchen was small. Jay removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room. It looks amazing! I was nervous about doing the job since I have heard many disaster stories. Not with this company-they delivered fantastic service on time and were a pleasure to work with. Jay gave me a lot of great ideas including cabinets with glass doors and lights in a 9 inch space! Everything was well planned and the cabinet company we used called fieldstone was great. There was no bait and switch. They were there when they said they would be and worked from morning to night. Scott and mike were jays coworkers and were craftsmen. I did not want to change the style of my kitchen to be really modern but be in line with the rest of the house. With jays help this all worked out. I now have a space that is so user friendly and makes my room so much more open for everyday and entertaining. If you are shopping for a contractor this is the guy to use! Absolutely great!!

Jay and his team was the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. He is more than just a contractor, he's a craftsman. We would just show him pictures of what we liked and wanted and he would built it perfectly. Everyone just loves the work he did. He made you feel as though you were family. I just wanted to thank Jay-Quinn contracting for renovating my bathroom. We think it looks magnificent. Jay, Mike, and Scott were able to transform the room by relocating the door and raising the ceiling. Jay was a professional, on time, and completed the work in a timely fashion. Jay _Quin just completed the gut renovation of my master bath, taking it from the 60's to modern times and it is fabulous! It was a pleasure dealing with the team and hiring them was the smartest thing I could have done. I called a number of contractors for competitive pricing.....Jay answered my call promptly, made an appointment, showed up early (and called to make sure that was ok) and got back to me with a price when promised. (I am still waiting to hear from some of the others). When he looked at the existing bathroom, he made a few suggestions that made the new layout better - its now more functional and spacious). The day after I received his price, we had a conversation clarifying the scope of work- what was included and anything that wasn't, so there were no surprises later on. We agreed on a start day and completion date, and Jay was a man of his word.....they showed up when promised, worked long days and completed the job when promised.....there were no extra charges, there were no excuses, there was no bad language or loud music, there were no disappearing acts- they came, they worked and they finished - in a timely and professional manner! Jay added some customized touches to finalize the room, including creating a custom radiator cover that pulled the look together. When its time to update my kitchen, Jay-Quin has the job.....when I need any other work around my house, Jay-Quin has the job......while his price wasn't the lowest, it was the most comprehensive and there were no surprises at the end (except how great the bathroom looked). It was a pleasure having Jay and his team work here.

Jay and his workers made us the Faberge of Brooklyn bathrooms. I cannot praise their work more highly. After walking me through possible permutations of the reno, what supplies we'd need and where to get them, Jay turned what is an incredibly small, disgusting and broken-down bathroom that hadn't seen any TLC for decades into a room I wish I had more excuse to stay in. When discussing design of the bathroom, Jay was open to my pre-formed ideas and great at figuring out what would work and what wouldn't. It was a gut-reno with a simple design, took 1.5wks and, beyond staying in budget, Jay went out of his way to add details I was sorry I hadn't initially thought of (like a heat lamp) and kept us updated the entire time. He handled interactions with the neighbors wonderfully, was good at communicating progress and great at discussing changes as we went. Awesome awesome job and what a delightful outcome.

I started with concrete work, which looks as good today as it did in 1990! Then I went to my master bath which is gorgeous. After that? Another bathroom and then my fabulous kitchen! Jay's bid for this project was mid range, however, after checking various websites for customer satisfaction, we decided to use his company. The project included all new waste lines, all new supply lines, mold resistant wall boards, and new sub floors. He designed a custom walk in shower with both a rain forest shower head and hand held detachable shower wand. He also installed bead board wainscoting over walls with a layer of skim coat. The walk in shower with its frameless glass walls, creates a real open feeling in this odd shaped small room. The floor and wall tiles are perfectly set, and each seam was carefully sealed. His workers were polite, professional and very neat, ensuring that the worksite and their path were swept daily. Jay worked well with us and brought our vision of our perfect bathroom to fruition.

Jay Quin Contracting has done several jobs for me since 1988. The most recent was a remodel of my master bath. The result was outstanding. The new bath makes me want to shower several times a day. The work was done in a timely fashion and the crew was very efficient , clean and pleasant to deal with. On another project Jay Quin Contracting installed a french drain in my basement and remodeled the area. It has turned a wet space into a dry one. Again the work was done in a timely fashion and the crew left my basement cleaner and prettier than they found it. I cannot speak highly enough about Jay and his crew.

I waited 4 months and went through 4 different contractors to have my bathroom completed. I should have called Jay-Quinn first. I recently hired Jay Quin Contracting to finish my basement and add a bathroom, and replace 3 large windows and Replace out front door with sidelights. From start to finish the job was done is a very professional manner. The men working at my home cleaned and organized the material every night before leaving. Jay-Quin Contracting is likely one of the most reputable firms you will EVER find in this business. We just finished our second renovation with them...First we completely changed our main bathroom and it came out way beyond our dreams! It was finished in about 10 days as promised and the design which included a vaulted ceiling and a huge glass enclosed shower turned out to be stunning. Late Fall/early Winter we decided to change our kitchen, including closing one of 2 entrances and widening the entrance to the dining room to open up the room...and to also create more counter space & storage.- we spoke with Jay, the owner about our thoughts and he added his great designs - together we arrived at a 3 tray stunning tin ceiling with matching gray crown molding -it's awesome, we also installed a garden window and a heavenly dark blue quartz counter top. Its a complete change and we could not be happier. Jay's crew is top-notch, talented, respectful and they work clean...Each nite everything was left neat & orderly! They work in the time frames they promise and the workmanship is quality and experienced. It is a pleasure to do business with such a great bunch of professional & down to earth folks. You really GET WHAT you WANT! The workmanship and the value go hand in hand. DO not hesitate to use this company for all your home remodeling needs and great design ideas and advice too. We hired Jay-Quin to create a family room and general living space in an unfinished basement. Jay and his team did a fantastic job from start to finish. Jay was great to work with, filling in the gaps between initial concept to finished product. His experience, dedication and attention to details such as dimmer switches, pipe and electricity placement, and types of doors/windows were just some of his contributions that helped make a polished finished product. His team was professional and hard working. The initial quoted price was what you paid at the end. There was no hidden costs or "nickel and dime" tactics.
