This was my second time using Finishing Touches. I recently had my basement remodel, and I wanted it to look warm and inviting. Joann and team did a fantastic job! I’ve had so many compliments! They rearranged my furniture and hung artwork for me. Honestly, it’s not as expensive as you’d think! Treat yourself, and use their service!

Finishing Touches is incredible to work with. She knew I had a budget and was so knowledgeable. I have no talent for decorating and I was amazed how she pulled my living room together using my existing furniture but making it look like a different room with new art, lamps, and rearranging my furniture. I look forward to working with her on my next project.

We were lucky enough to find JoAnn on Houzz during our renovation. Our house is a modest 70s rancher that we updated by taking down walls, adding a entryway and porch and remodeling the bathroom. It was overwhelming to figure out how to make a combo livingroom/diningroom "shoebox" shape into something warm, updated and comfortable. During our initial phone call, JoAnn collected some information about style and goals for our project. During our first meeting, JoAnn came prepared with paint decks, catalogs and fun ideas to get us started. We continued to communicate via email and a final visit. She helped us determine how to place our current furniture, add area rugs, lighting, shelving, curtains, and art in order to make a fun updated space that reflected our personalities in our main living space. JoAnn has a lovely personality and is very thorough. I really enjoyed working with her and her fees are quite reasonable. We highly recommend her as an interior designer. She has great style and wonderful ideas!

JoAnn with Finishing Touches worked with me on our primary bedroom. We had moved into a new home, purchased a new bed, but had no vision for painting, window treatments, and other furniture to complete the space. After a phone conversation and a few back and forth emails, we met in person. JoAnn had somehow managed to mine my design aesthetic from our brief interactions and came prepared with suggestions for paint and furniture. She shopped for fabric and coordinated production of custom blackout curtains for our oversized windows. She even shopped artwork and decorative pieces from around the house to fill blank walls in the room. She took our bedroom from a blank slate and turned it into a lovely and peaceful retreat that feels like the perfect combination of new and well-loved pieces. I hope to work with JoAnn on other projects around the house and would highly recommend her for your project.

I have been so grateful for my experiences with Joann. She’s my go to for all aspects of decorating my home. She has such an eye for style and proportion and I am always thrilled with the final product. Communication is very easy and with specific feedback from both parties, you’ll get exactly where you want to be. Polite, fun and over the top in service is what you’ll get. My house looks amazing and my friends think so too! She’s the best!

I really love the modern rustic look of grays, whites, and fresh greenery (think Joanna Gaines on Fixer Upper). But I have no idea how to hang and arrange art. I bought about 30 pieces I loved and let Joann and Karen decorate my upstairs level. Oh my goodness! What a treat! I’m beyond thrilled with what they did. I’ve received so many compliments!

I had just moved into my new apartment and wanted to change some things up in my bedroom. I shared my vision with JoAnn for a more bohemian-style design and she completely nailed it. The addition of the hanging macrame pots was her brilliant idea and the circular mirror was something I never considered. These simple yet creative ideas were just the cherry on top. JoAnn was so willing to listen, full of positive energy, and it was an absolutely joy to work with her. I'm planning more redesign and will definitely be giving her a call! Highly recommend :)

Working with JoAnn was a pleasure! She is both personable and professional. When we asked her to help us rearrange furniture, pictures, and decorative items to make our home look more "put together", she didn't just start moving things around. She immersed herself into our space by asking questions that helped her find out a little about us and the stories behind some of our belongings. She was careful to ask for feedback as we worked together to rearrange things. It was clear that her goal was to help enhance the appearance of our home in accordance with our personal style, not to impose her vision of what "should be". Additionally, JoAnn was a great resource as she connected us with a contractor to do some redesign work in a bathroom, someone to refinish a painted table, and, most importantly, someone to do a difficult picture framing job. We have three leather Balinese shadow puppets that we were at a loss of how to best display. JoAnn had a very good idea of how to frame them and connected us with someone who could do the job. She met us at the framer's place of business when we went to discuss the job, which helped with communicating the idea to him.

We have recently moved into a new home and needed help in melding our existing furniture with new pieces and furnishing an open loft space. JoAnn has been a great partner in this work. We particularly like the fact that she has seen new and creative uses for our current furnishings while curating selections for new pieces. She listens extremely well and is responsive. We would give JoAnn our highest recommendation.

I loved working with Joann. I was so stuck after moving into new house and trying to decorate with 30 years of stuff I had collected. Joann worked with my pieces which required a little rearranging plus some updating by adding some decorative pieces, pillows, paint, rugs, lighting etc. Sometimes it was the smallest tweak that made a huge difference. She was excellent at listening to my needs and wants. She would offer several suggestions on things, for example a lighting fixture and I would have final pick. It made process fun. I didn’t feel intimidated or like a certain style was being forced on me. But she did make me think outside my usual box. She was always super quick to response. I can’t say enough good things. If you are hesitating to use a decorator because you think it might be too over the top, jump on the Joann band wagon.

I hired Finishing Touches to provide guidance on decorating my new home. Joann was delightful and provided a lot of great feedback, as well as a list of resources (vendors, shops, websites, etc.). I plan on having Joann return in a coming weeks to provide additional assistance with my decorating plan.

JoAnn helped me choose paint colors for my new town home as well as hang our 150+ pictures/photo galleries. She has sent me scads of paint sample (the big sheets, 4 at a time) to hang all over my home and look at throughout day and night. Despite finding our "studs" are metal so therefore couldn't take a nail but needed screws, she and her assistant managed to get all our pictures hung in one day. She took what we had, figured out where things should go and then hung them. She's a delightful positive presence. Highly recommend.
