Hi fellow Houzz List patrons, We are pleased to provide a very positive feedback for Pro Grounds! Over the past 10 years, we’ve worked with approximately six landscaping companies. By far, Pro Grounds is our leading favorite for a number of reasons: -- From initial contact on the phone, we always received very courteous and polite responses. -- Pro Grounds truly care for satisfying their customers; and they succeed. -- Very high quality of work with an interest in providing high quality to the standards of the client. -- Use of very good quality materials that produce better esthetics. -- Experience with many design situations that becomes apparent when odd situations arise, and when the projects finish…the look is terrific and gives us a BIG SMILE. -- Great attention to detail—they do things right and they do the right things. Tim has a great eye for aesthetics; Joe has great experience that he applies; Giovanni's stone craftsmanship is a joy to watch. All three gents are very friendly. -- Careful during construction to limit collateral damage. For what damage occurs, they repair it, no questions asked! -- In the top two best companies we’ve experienced (across all trades) with respect to clean-up after work completion—simply outstanding! -- They start work when customer and company have agreed upon a product. This does take some time before the job can start, and it improves communication and understanding between the two parties, and a better product later on. -- (Read this one carefully) When unexpected conditions arise, they explain the situation, and will work WITH the owner to develop a solution (not just make a decision and cover up the work like many other contractors). This is VERY important when electric safety and water intrusion issues are at hand! We worked closely with Tim Trimmer, Joe Ryder, and their crew leader Giovanni. All gentlemen were terrific to work with, personable, and were pleased to discuss alternate ideas and design solutions. Giovanni's craftsmanship is a pleasure to see. We wholeheartedly recommend Pro Grounds, and we are definitely going to hire them for more work around our house! -------------------------------

Description of Work: Complete redesign of back patio and yard including grading, drainage, fireplace install and sprinkler system. Member Comments: My wife and I interviewed several design companies looking for someone that could take our design ideas, provide their own experience, and redesign our entire backyard. Richard Sweeney with Professional Grounds (PGI) was able to take our thoughts and put them into a design that fit our desires and also keep with the colonial Virginia design of our house. We hired Professional Grounds (PGI) to implement a majority of the design. The work performed is of excellent quality and our backyard looks amazing. The construction team was very courteous and tidy. Due to a mix up with brick batch sizing and coloring, completion of the project delayed longer than expected but the team was easy to work with and prompt in making sure my wife and I were satisfied. The team brought in sod and grass seed (which was not part of the contract) to repair the damage done to our yard during construction. Overall: We are very satisfied with the final product. Special thanks to Richard, William, Joseph, Giovanni, and their team. I look forward to working with PGI again one the front part of the house.

I am extremely pleased with the service provided by Professional Grounds! I recently had them install a patio in my backyard. Since the area was small, I had no idea what I wanted to do except that I wanted to remove the wood deck, replace it with bricks or pavers, and enlarge the space. After an initial meeting with Nevin & Richard to get a sense of what I was thinking and survey the space, they created a design that was simple, yet had character. The finished product is amazing. I now have more space and a beautiful little oasis made up of pavers, river rocks (around trees & trim) & a large stepping-stone at the exit. The paver design included a border that added detail and provided a finished look. I simply love it! It was great working with Nevin. He was very responsive and professional. I was very impressed with how he kept me informed throughout the project and followed up at the completion with a thank you. The entire team was friendly and courteous. They showed up on time and were ready to work. Their service is truly outstanding and their price is comparable to other companies. Overall, Professional Grounds has a great team and is an awesome company! I would highly them to others!

Professional Grounds did an beautiful job in landscaping our backyard which had become seriously overgrown and overcome with weeds. They transplanted our Nandinas which were scattered throughout our backyard and grouped them in a nice corner location. They assisted us in selecting plants and ground cover which will work well in the shade. Not only did they do a very professional job in a timely manner but when we had some issues with the sprinkler system, they were quick to respond to the problem and stayed on top of it until it was fixed. We are now thoroughly enjoying the view as we sit out on our back porch. We highly recommend Professional Grounds!

Professional Grounds has done an outstanding job on a number of landscaping projects for us and repairing and replacing part of a post and plank retaining wall. Erik Hildreth, with whom we worked was always prompt, courteous and exceptionally helpful. PGI went out of their way to meet a tight deadline for us when we sold our home, for which we are grateful. We highly recommend this company.

Professional Grounds did an amazing job redesigning our landscape. From designing new plantings, paths, building out steps and handling drainage issues, they do it all! Marta Carlson, our landscape designer was the best! Our backyard is now an oasis with beautiful plantings, great lighting, river rock that looks beautiful while helping with drainage and sturdy steppers that now make it a breeze to navigate the yard.

Professional Grounds did a superb redesign of our existing landscape to include removing a front walkway/existing retaining wall and installing a beautiful new wall and walkway/patio made of brick pavers. Our landscape architect Richard Sweeney drew up a comprehensive plan to address drainage issues, desired low maintenance design desires and timeline. His design exceeded our expectations and he incorporated our proposed changes as the installation process proceeded. The final result is a beautiful front yard and entry which adds value to our home as well as much needed curb appeal. We are extremely happy with the outcome!

Had new steps, retaining walls and walkway built to my front door. Also landscaping was installed around the new areas of hardscape. Loved the results! Seth was wonderful to work with. Great design and implementation. Would definitely hire them again.

We hired Professional Grounds and have been pleased every step of the way. We plan on hiring them again for additional landscaping. The staff is extremely responsive and helpful. The landscape architect we worked with came up with a beautiful and creative design that met our needs and also took into consideration that I am not the world’s best gardener. When it came time for installation, they were professional, on-time, and on-budget, which is really important to me. The work crews were clean and did a phenomenal job on all the small details. The work of an overall fantastic company. Scope of work: Landscaping of a yard, to include planting trees, construction of a patio, a stone walkway, and slate tile.

Professional Grounds is a quality organization. They built a front walkway and landscaped the area and it is beautiful. Their workmanship was top notch, the people were extremely professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. We highly recommend Professional Grounds.
