Karen was very responsive and particularly sensitive to my anxiety regarding selling my home. She could comfortably explain the rationale for staging select rooms in my home in a way that was not threatening or judgmental. She simply reiterated that we were neutralizing my traditional decor to appeal to a broader audience. She also did not seek to make the job any broader than it needed to be. Our home has Just been put on the market, so we’ll see how successful we will be. But karen did make a very stressful experience considerably less so. I am about to sell my parents' 1920 brick and cement home in Queens, in a charming little enclave. My real estate agent recommended that we stage the home, and referred me to Karen Hunter, principal at Staging Magic. Let me just say that Ms. Hunter worked some magic, indeed. That house hasn't looked this good since Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan dropped by for dinner, and the furniture and accents are even more modern, but work beautifully with the interior of the house. When I first saw how she had decorated my folks' home, the first thing I thought of was all the lovely ways my parents could have decorated that home—but didn't.
