The only rod I used was at the bottom. The top is affixed with Velcro to a piece of wood about 1inch x 1 inch. Screw the wood to the frame then stick or staple Velcro to it and then Velcro the top piece of your fabric nice and flat to the wood. The rod is measured to fit the exact width between the cupboards. I used a long screw from the inside of the cabinets to outside and right into the hollow rod. I hope you can make sense of it. If not email me at ageless63@aol.com and I'll try to explain better.
